As time goes by!
Nuke Stress Test a few weeks ago and then meeting with doctor's nurse which didn't reveal much but that things are changing in blood flow. But, can't really find out anything till the doc gets back from vacation.  Makes you wonder why this meeting in the first place. Nothing life changing as was told to keep on doing what I'm doing.
Did get a used Batter Tender off ebay but a problem with it as it would not go into the float mode. Notified seller about it and was told to throw it away and he refunded the money to my paypal accout. I gave him a great review due to his actions. He stated he had no way to test it in the beginning. So , all is good there.  In fact, have a bid on another one that comes up to d day in two days. I'd really like to have 3 of them due to the lawnmower needed one also and I would not have to swap the one in the garage between the bike and lawnmower. The one in the shop stays with the kLR in there.
Think I finally got the electrical problem behind me on the circuit to the sewing room and carport. Light's blinking at times. Had removed the connection where I had tied in the AC wire to the main wire going from the House breaker to the unit breaker  and then to the carport junction box. Will run another for the AC later directly from the main box outside.
I had pulled the Dryer out last week and went through the circuit breaker box there and all was good as could see.  So, yesterday morning , the light went out under the carport we use to see what's happening with the washer and drying. So, the hunt started again. Shut off the house for a bit while I removed the breaker headed that way and redid the wires. Back together and still a bit of a blink at times. Back to the carport box. In loosening and tightening the input connections , the left side shorted again a different gound wire I was touching with the shaft of the screwdriver and shut the whole left circuit down. Hmmmmmm . Voltage check show 124 on the right 0 on the left. When to the main circuit breaker going that way. Ditto finding. Attempted resetting it a few times before it finally did reset and making noises of not happy contacts inside. So, got all redone under the carport with that breaker off , making sure no wires rubbing against hot wires and got a new 70 amp breaker set to replace the one I was not happy with. Done deal and all back together again and , SO FAR, no lights blinking and full voltage everywhere.
Been enjoying riding about in the Corvette and it's nice gas mileage and just learning it. Have over 3000 miles on it since getting it 4 months ago and really abit anxious to move on to the next one. But, this car and the boat need to be sold first. Gives me lots of time to think and explore and learn about the C5 Vettes. And, all things to look for when I do find what I want.
Weather is typical for this time of year, 70 F one day and 40 the next. I try to get things done on the 60 / 70 days and hibernate on the lower ones. So, today and probaly tomorrow, the Vette and Bike's stay in the garage and shop and Da Truck gets the duty. It warms up way faster.
Thinking about the truck. Air Conditioner losing it charge again. Guess next time, I'll put a dye in it as the sealer I put last time didn't do lots. Probably won't need to mess with that till Spring though.
Fire Department Christmas gathering was a great meal and good presentation of awards and memorials. I ever won 25 bucks door prize. Ta daaaaaaaa.
Wife in the Christmas meal shopping mode. Can't see it myself but, it's her trip. So be it.
So , up to date till the next.

06 December 2016

Two weeks flown by fast. Seems the older you get, the faster time flys. But, such is life. Before the rains came, was using the vette as primary transportation.  Loved the last till up where I calculated 24.5 miles to the gallon. Checking the oil for the last 800 miles shows no oil usage since adding 1/2 qt at 2000 miles since the oil/filter change. Love that. Still have not calculated the price difference between the 93 octane it wants to the 87 the truck wants. Will, check prices on all next fill up. Think it's still near 10 cents per grade change. But, if use non-ethanol gas, way higher than the stuff with the up to 10%.
Had put some doublesided tape to hold the gps just ahead of the shifter but that proved to be bothersome and just not looking right. So, took it all off.  Figure the times I do need a GPS I can just stick it on the windshield.
Still getting the walks in when the weather allows but been a few days due to the rains that it has not happened.
Nucular Stress test done with no problems for me on the treadmill.  In fact, found this one seemed easier than the last one. A year ago. Nurse cranked up the elevation on the unit to get my heart rate up to the 126 beats per minute so I guess blood getting to legs muscles okay. ;-)
So, now we wait for the info to go to my Heart Doc and they get back with me for a visit to discuss it. ;-).
Couple messages on the Boat since I put it up for sale. A bit early but may as well get it out there. Pretty much have the vette sold after the first of the year so need the boat gone and the money in the bank. Then, begin the hunt for a C5 that I want. After much recearch, want one with the column lock disabled, HUD, Coupe due to the mostly hot weather and AC working better with a solid roof. Research is still very active and keep learning every day.  Kinda anxious for the next step. We'll see what the winds of fate bring our way.
With the cold air due here in a few days, got the gas heater out and cleaned it and installed it. Now in operation with no gas leaks. So, we be good in that direction.
And that about wraps the last few weeks so , till the next.

22 November 2016

Corvette is inspected. One lid cover coming loose so corrected that. Rigged up a place for the little gps on the console with some double sided tape. And found out that putting ear phone plugs in the ear do a couple things. Knock down the road noise big time , and, here the music much better. So, just using the MP3 player for that now instead of a feed into the cassette part of the radio.
Last fill up in Lake Charles with 93 octane gas and 10% max ethanol was nice to the car so far. Had been running  91 octane , no ethanol in it for the last few tankfuls. Also, last tank netted 24.5 mile per gallon.  Like that.

The bed in up and being used so that's a good thing with da wife. She gave her old bed to a friend that was wanting to downsize her bed. All is good in bedsville now. ;-)

Had the Charter modem go out last week so went to Eunice to get an exchange. Wow! Upon getting there, place was closed and big time remodeling going on. All moved to Opelousas on the side of I 49. So, after a few failed attempts as getting the gps to accept the address shown, just took off for the address figuring I could find it. And, I did. But, coming back, got me and the vette on I-49 to I-10 instead of having to go though Eunice and Opelousas. Much faster and better ride. That Car does not like rough roads none.
Get home, hook up new Charter modem and it's asking questions I have no idea about. So, wait till yesterday to call and ended up the lady was able to get the modem working over the phone. Needed to put the internal address of the modem in the charter system. ???? What ever. Then , proceeded to get a date with a service guy to install a charter router/wifi set up.  She wanted to I go to the store and just get one. Much cheaper. Installation of - 40 bucks. Told her the store was 100 miles away and would just rather pay for the tech guy to install it and get it working and ask questions. Done deal and the guy actually got here about 17:20.  Nice guy from Eunice and ex Seabee. Now, all is good in computer land and a secure wifi at last.

Another good friend gone to the graveyard that I need to go pay respects to today. Paula Benoit LeCompte. < Spelling >  Down from Cancer at mid 50's.
Lost another friend and fellow fire department worker in the inspection group last week due to him being killed in his bed by grandson. Sad.

Did put a bolt/nut to hold a broken piece of spoiler back together on the vette yesterday and somehow strained my neck getting up and down. Just moving too fast for my own good and age. LOL. Now, a few days for it to get healed I'm sure so nursing it.

Till the next.

14 November 2016

Wow! November already upon us. And, mid 40's this morning for our first cold week.

Had a head cold last week and that put me down for the week. Doing meds and staying home mostly.
Did go out Sunday the 6th to help with the annual FD barbecue. Again, cutting brisket for the plates. Fun day being with the FD peeps and others helping.

Did wash and wax the Corvette once. It get's dusty just sitting in the garage. A few drive abouts in it and did test the heater and it do work. Did add a 1/2 quart of oil to it last week also with a bit over 2000 miles since last oil/filter change. But, do have to add oil to my truck also between 5000 mile oil changes and I'm sure it has had a better life and treatment in it's 13 yrs the the Vette has had in it's 21 yrs. Even though the truck has about 25k more miles on it.

Had another issue and learning lesson with the truck. Hooking up to my little trailer and checking the lights, the right sig light not working. Hmmmmm. Went ahead and made the run to Basile to pick up a bed from my cuz and come back.  Of course, checked the bulb , and then the wiring at the tongue, then the wiring at the accessory plug without getting a signal at either. Then  went fuse hunting starting under the hood. Check the 3  10 amp fuse having something to do with TrlLites there , all good. Then the fuses on the driver's side dash.  Lo and behold. A left and right trailer lite fuses and the right being open. So, changed it out and test for lites at the  accessory plug. All good. Put all back together and still need to tape up some trailer wiring before using it again.

Wife decided she wanted the little white iron bed from Cuz so we got that arranged and desmoked all the linen and parts as much as possible.  He being a heavy smoker in his trailer.

Today, perhaps go get the Corvette inspected or wait till tomorrow as I had dental tomorrow also.

30 October 2016

Not a lot unusual in the last week or so in my world.
Corvette fill up with $3.10 gas and 21.1 mpg this time. Plus 2000 miles on it in the last 3 months.  Running good and all I need to work at this time is working.
The passenger armrest pad fell off the other day as the Gorilla glue let go. Put some Marine super adhesive on it and we'll see how that does. Works very good on my boat so.

Did get the raised garden plot near the fig tree broke down and the wood cut up and in the trash. The dirt spread out under the clothes lines and killed one small ground rattler in the process.

Shame but the truck gets dirty just sitting in the drive way. The dust collects on it during the day and the heavy dew make it run all over the truck. So, it's a once a week quick wash job on it.  Now need to wash both bikes a bit.

Did turn in the FD Barbecue tickets and money a few days ago. Did sell 170 dollars worth of tickets. That be coming up the 6th of November.

Been loving the no rain situation we've been having the last few weeks but really getting dusty and dry with some yards starting to get cracks in them. But, better than flooding for sure.

Did eat one of my Grapefruits off the tree and was very good.  Need to add some more potash and salt to it today with lots of water for sure. The peelings still just a little thick.

Kumquat tree starting to get some ripe but a ways to go yet. And, got lemons from a friend to do something with. Probably start on some lemon wine shortly.

Till the next.

25 October 2016

As the time flies by! And, quite awhile since the last post. Several things happened in my corner of the world in the last few weeks.
On the Corvette; received and installed the replacement instrument panel. Requiring taking the bottom of the dash out and dropping the steering column. All went pretty good till putting the steering back in place and a relay falling to the floor. Went ahead and got the column bolted in place and started looking from where the relay belonged and could not find a place. So, Fired up the car and check lighting and things and finding the radio would not come on. So shut that down to go to the books and inet for answers. A few pieces of advice from forums and looking at the factory manual for my car and determined  what it was for so got a mirrow a few days later and went hunting again with a fresh mind and body. LOL! Found the relay to be plugging in from the firewall side and a insert by feel thing. That done, all works. Put the rest of the lower dash together and called it a done job and it's neat to see the LCD working bright now.
Had a Truck Show last weekend at the I-10 Park but didn't find out till Saturday afternoon and finally went Sunday afternoon. But, many were gone by then. Still, much to see and was amazed with all the vender tents there. Have to pay more attention to these show times in the future. A few pics from the show.

Dust seemed to be a problem with most the people I talked to.  Maybe next time, I can get to see more of the vehicles.

Sis in law from Texas got here a few days ago to spend some time with us. Really love having her here. She and wife been busy talking and doing things together since she arrived. This morning I ask wife what the agenda was and not known yet. Let the Winds of Fate do it's job.

This computer had a problem connecting to the internet and tried a few things but nothing worked. So , took it apart and blew it out with air, went and showed a friend at the fire station what I was looking at.  Came back and put it together again and lo and behold, Hooked up. Hmmmmmmm.

Till the next.

13 October 2016

Yea! Finally got the windshield wiper motor replacement installed and all back together and working as it should. Took a bit of exploratory work on getting it back together and about a week as I would only do an hour or so of work on the problem then give my old back a couple days off to regroup.
Then started on putting black felt on the dash to knock out the sun's reflexion with lots of fitting to make it look half decent. Works great on knocking out glare on my test ride with just the drivers side done. Now have the patterns cut for the passenger side and that's next.
Then, there was the passenger door storage lid that was not right so took it apart of find all the screw bosses split  so working on that. Trying to find another without having to buy a whole inside cover but not much success. Also attempting to repair the old one with wooden dowels cut to size and glued in the right places. We'll see.
Also , finally come across a rebuilt instrument panel for 200 plus 25 shipping with 30 day return. If I sent mine off , it would cost that to have it repaired and send back. So, that is on the way in and hopefully finally get to see a clear view of the speedometer and other things on the LCD read out. Then may attempt to repair that one or sell it as is. We'll see.
Finally got a cassette to USB adapter so I can listen to my music instead of the radio. lovin' that.
Not a lot else going on here that needs my attention and waiting for cooler weather. So, till the next.

05 October 2016

As days go by, and taking care of the body by not rushing it. ;-)
Main thing lately was changing out the wiper motor on the vette because a circuit board is not available for this model. Ordered a whole used motor that had been tested and hoping to just rob the board off it for an easy swap. Nope, insides different so , though it will fit and work on a 95, tis not the exact same.
So, get the old one out. Having to soak the wiper blade assemblies with penetrating oil to get the release to work. Getting them off and the old hose for the washer breaks but all good.
Getting the wiper arm off the motor was not fun and yes on a magnet to get parts dropped in that space. Then the 3 bolts that hold the motor against the firewall was and experience.

The tested to see if the replacement worked after hooking it up to the electrics and it did and that's good.  Getting it in place was it for that day as back was getting sore.

Then the Stearman fly in

was happening this last weekend so was there Saturday afternoon doing some pics and got to see a crash

with an experimental plane that was there visiting and not part of the Stearman deal. Of course lots of private aircraft were there as this pic shows

A day off and riding about on Suzy the Bandit was good. Due to no rain lately ( YEH! ) grass cutting is not needed , just a bit of weed eating here and there.

Then back to the Vette and   it's wiper motor installation. Reassembled the ball joint arm which took a couple tries before getting it right.

Getting the motor in place and getting the mounting bolts started was a bit of a pain but once got the 1st one started and figuring out the technique to do it, was not super bad. Had to disconnect a hose that was in the way and should of done that when taking the unit out of there. And , that was the end for that day. Letting the back rest.
Not a lot happen since then as grass still good. But downloaded a book from Amazon and reading it via computer and Kindle app. About the 8 girls that were killed around here a few years back and all the LEO corruption happening during the period. Knew it was happening but keeping your nose out of it made for a better life. -)

So, maybe today, get the car together?????? ;-)
Till the next!

29 September 2016

September  quickly going away from us with 2 days left.  Brings back a memory of the time I went to Canada and hit a cold front up there on the 1st day of Oct. which turn the air to 30F and ice on the bike. Not good. Still took another whole day do get out of Canada, cross the border and head South to warmer weather. Ahhhhhhh the memories.

Back to the present starting with what's been done on the Car lately.
New antenna and grommet installed and working.
Windshield wipers still not doing their thing and was going to get a cover and circuit board only to find all have it back ordered with no date. So, got one off ebay that was listed for my car group but the inside is different. So tried a few things on the one in there but no go. So was going to just swap out the whole motor but the wipers are really on there and don't want to destroy them getting them off. Next time I have the hood up I'll spray them to see what happens then. Course, I may see if I can swap the arm on the circuit boards and try that. We'll see. ;-)
The Cruise control is a bigger mess. 1st of all, the turn signal assembly in the steering column is bad loose on engaging the left turn side. But, if you pull it to you a bit , does work.
Tested all under the hood on the cruise system and all is good except for no voltage to the vacuum pod. Had change blow fuse a while back and it still didn't work and check fuse again after finding no voltage and it was still good.  ?????????.  So, while driving about a few days ago, decided to attempt the cruise again and got a burnt wire smell for a bit. Not sure where it was coming from but rolled a window down and it went away. Getting home, checked the Cruise fuse again and it was blown. So, back to the drawing board on that and find what's shorting out that fuse. One splice goes to the steering column and one to the relay under the passenger dash.
So, gonna put that project on hold till I fix the set up in the steering column. That's on hold till I recoup my back account from having to spend 550 bucks on a new washing machine this month along with parts and tools bought for the carvette.

Next is Homecoming parade duty in which I told a gal I would ride her daughter in the parade. That worked out pretty good.

Found out that even 1st gear is too fast for a parade. Had to drag brakes near the whole 1/2 hour route. But, was a fun experience.

A nice 211 mile afternoon on Bandit was good therapy but tiring to do it in 3.5 hours, Been a long time since to that stuff. LOL!

Wife's bro in hospital since yesterday with pneumonia and coughing up blood a bit. Gonna be here for a few days and going check on him later this morning.  After the walk and FD visit.
And that's about it for this run so till the next.

17 September 2016

And the rains return! Saturday morn and much stuff coming our way at 06:13 out of the SW seems. But, such is life and it's been a wet Summer so far down here.

Had the meet and eat with the Class of '61 at Mike's. Took a look at the room we would be renting. Pretty nice and they do all the setting up. Only a week away and will be glad to see the old classmates once again.  Suppose to be around 50 showing so that will be good.

Did go ahead and order the cover/circuit board for the wiper motor on the car. Had asked if they had the circuit board for a '95 Vette and they responded with " the cover comes with the new circuit board ". So , while ordering that from their website, went ahead and ordered a replacement antenna also. Get the message back later via email that the circuit board was out of stock and no delivery date. So, replied to cancel the circuit board and cover and just sent the antenna kit.  Got notice yesterday afternoon that it had shipped and they were refunding the money for the other part to my Paypal account.
Then, went to Ebay and check on used motor assemblies and found a newer entry with a 30-day return policy. So , ordered it and received notice that it was shipped by yesterday afternoon also. If all goes right, I'll be installing those parts next week.
Hopefully, that'll be two more issues scratched off the Fix-it list. And adds around 200 dollars to repair bill. But, thankful that so far, I can do most of that myself.

Did change out the front tire on Bandit. The job went well and balance was pretty fast. Pulled one weight and added two more at different locations. Checked brake pads and good for a while yet even though I have a set in stock. Wheel bearings felt good and have only been in there for about 22,000 miles so should go another 30 to 40 thousand easy.

Then, noticed a couple days ago that the low beam light  went out. So, yesterday afternoon started working on that fix. Having to take the whole fairing assembly off to get to the bulbs.

Gone to get replacement bulbs this morning when the parts stores open. And, change both the Hi and Lo due to time to do the job. Probably about an hour in the teardown and another hour minimum going back together with cleaning and lubing.

First time I've done more than normal maintenance to Bandit since the wreck 3 yrs ago. Except for playing with luggage options I have here in the garage.

Bren and I went to visit my cuz in Tepetate last week in the Vette. The First time she had ever been there. Enjoyed the visit and he seems a bit better. Still needing to go back to MD Anderson for chemo check- up. Also got to talk more to their youngest son, Barry. He is laid off at present so helping lots with taking care of his dad. Neat guy.

And today is barbecue from the little church on W. Division as our norm Saturday meal. And that pretty much catching up with the week.
So, till the next.

13 September 2016

Wow! Yesterday without a rain storm down town. Was all around but missed Jennings. In probably the last couple weeks this has happened 2 times. Makes for some very soggy conditions.

Did get a tire ordered for Bandit and was notified yesterday that it's on the way from Bike Bandit's supplier. Have over 10 thousand miles on the front and it's really showing the hard ridge in the middle. I'll take a pic before it comes off the wheel. Yes, I still do all my own tire work on my bikes, including balancing and checking wheel bearing and brakes while apart.

On the car, played around learning how the passenger door courtesy light operates and changing the bulb.  A visit to Mark's Auto to talk with my friend about a couple options I was thinking about for the corvette. And things still needed to be fixed on it.

Radio antenna doesn't retract but you can here the motor run ( maybe $40 if lucky )
Cruise control doesn't work  ($ ????  )
Drivers door panel loose  ??
LCD display for speedo needs to be sent off for replacing film strips.  ( $ 200 plus shipping )
Windshield wipers operate on slow and fast but not else where or do they shut off and park without turning the ign key off then back on.  ( $ 100 hopefully)
Oil leaks on engine and don't even want to put a pressure washer on it with the type ign it has  and need to pull the engine to do it right ( $1500 - 2000 ) Depending on parts needed .

Gave that to Mark as Option One.

Then, asked him if this was his car, would he do all that or sell it in the Spring and hunt for a newer C5 car. As , some of the reason for getting this car was to see if I really wanted to drive one on a near daily basis.  He didn't even stutter about going to a C5 and the advantages.  So, Probable going to fix things that I can fix like the antenna and the wipers. Maybe send the LCD off for refurbing and just have fun with the car till Spring and put it up for sale.

Also selling my 04 Nitro LX700DC  w/ 90 merc and 24v trolling system on it this spring when it's fishing time. I don't use it enuff for it to be about and letting something set is not good for it.

Meeting this evening with the Reunion Committee at Mike's for finale decisions on the Class of 61 reunion the 24th of the month.  Last was 5 yrs ago and at least 3 have died since then.  Hopefully, this won't be our last one.

Oppps, time to get dressed, get the dog, go walk. ;-)  Till the next.

10 September 2016

In the days gone by, one day leads to the other, an endless trip and loving it.
On the car, Old ox sensors out without too many problems for my 1st time doing it. Going back with the new ones, egad. After about an hour of trying to get them started by hand and having no luck, I decide to get the car up higher and on jack stands. So, that happen and moved the ramps out of the way. But, was starting to be hot and worn by this time so stopped that for the day.
Next was grass cutting before the rains. Had to do the lots next door with the Craftsman self propelled mower as it was just too wet for the Dixon.   Did something I had not done in the 14 r so yrs I've had this Craftsman , left the gas cap off  or didn't tighten it enough and it fell off and I ran over it. Sheesh! Made it un-usable for sure. And, On all the way, made the engine suffer for gas, on loose had gas coming out from the cap. Luck was that I had the bad stuff done so did the last 10% with the Dixon. Then our front yard with the Dixon.
Found a cap on Ebay and ordered it for about 6 bucks,  The Craftsman site only had the whole gas tank for sale for 50 bucks.
Took the next day off from working on the car as I was a bit sore from crawling and fighting with the ox sensors trying to get them started.
Next morning , went at it with a different approach of trying to get all straight and holding with one hand and operating a box end wrench to get the threads engaged. Worked! Both in finally after about an hour. Took a break and took the car off the jack stands.  Took a test ride about town for a bit and no Service Engine Light on and car running smooth. YES!
Did notice that the left front spoiler I had glued back together broke again. Oh well. Maybe later , I'll replace it. See they have replacements on Ebay.
In the following days, took the car out for more ride about and is running better than has since Ive had it.

Had to give a morning to Da Truck and wash it  and really clean the interior as had been ignoring it since all the work on the car.

Put more rat poison out and saw some had been ate at the shop door. Good deal, Something was getting into my Dog Treats so we are stopping that. Did kill one with poison in the garage and didn't fine it till the smell led to it. Yuk!

Worked on the Back Glass mechanics today on the Car, Cleaned, lubed, fixed broken plastic protectors on the Targa storage system. All is good. Then waxed the back glass and side windows front and back. Cleaned and lubed the gas cap door also.

Gas cap came in for the Craftsman and put it on and mowed the back yard yesterday so all is good there now.

Took down the light under the carport that had quit working and cleaned and service it and painted, Back working now but going to wait till wife has her carpenter do what she wants before rewiring and putting the light back up with it's separate switch .

And, that about catches me up till today so , till the next. ;-)

05 September 2016

Getting into September already quickly. And did have a few days without rain but that returned yesterday afternoon. Bad was I did not get grass cut due to motorcycle racing live feed most of the day. By the time it finished, Hello rain.
Other things happening is mostly working on the Vette and it's many little problems. Still reading all I can find and my brain can absorb on it. Chasing the " Service Engine Soon " light with terrible idle with the light off. Changed the MAF and the old one was terribly dirty , but didn't solve the problem. Changed the MAP and disconnect the battery for about 30 mins to erase all codes. Wow! Computer didn't like that and the car was spitting and missing on gentle acceleration getting on to the interstate and worst was boxed it with traffic so I could  not play. But it did get to running smoother. Once getting off I 10 and on a back road, was able to play with speeds and coast down. Light STILL comes on and STILL runs better with it on. But, stays off longer when I make it do so with acceleration to about 80 or so and letting it coast down.
Next is the Ox Sensors, hopefully today.
As per the bikes, a few quick 70 plus mile runs on Suzy and mostly around town stuff on the KLR. The truck gets used just in town lately also when need to carry stuff or the dog is with me. She still is not really comfortable in the Vette.
Friends still dying before me. That's good I guess and I hardly ever see them anymore. But, we have , in the past , traveled the same paths together and keep in distant touch. Getting to where I know more people in the graveyard than on the streets of town. Sigh! RIP Joe Comeaux ( and his wife Brenda whom died 2 weeks ago ) and AB Richard.  On the Comeaux's, I ran around with John , his next older borther, and his sister, Marie, hung with my sister a bit, Wilbert " T " was a bit older but well known and dated my 1st cuz for a bit, and Edward , a year older than I was the whole sibiling set up. Marie and John are left now with John up the East coast somewhere's having stayed up there and married after getting out of the Navy.
So, Life continues.

28 August 2016

Amazing, a whole week has past nearly. The name of the game for the last week has been the flood waters going down, slowly. Due to the ever present rain in the afternoons and about ever several days, most of the day. But it's South Louisiana and it stays wet most the time.

A few ride abouts on the bikes but nothing very far. Mostly the KLR around town and close country side. The Bandit for a few plus 50 miles runs. Both working fine so no work needed in that direction for a while.

The truck, Usually morning and rain time  transportation. Probably oil / filter and grease job coming up next week. Have not waited for the Change Oil Light  to come on for years. Just change it around 4 to 5,000 miles along with filter. Had to re-seat one of the rear signal light bulbs a while back as it quit working. Cleaned and dielectric grease for that. Sometimes I have to spread those little electric contacts with those push in bulbs.

The Vette,  Had the AC charged but it seems to be loosing it fast. May have to just put some leak finder in myself and see what's happening. Still lots to do with it but it's going to be a long term project of a few years to get it all right and workings as intended. Poor thing has really suffered from lack of maintenance.
In finding the code reader socket , I had to pull the lower cover under the steering wheel to find it tucked way back in there. But, rerouted it so easy now to access it.
Check codes on LCD speedo face with the short out technique but , no faults showing. Was hunting for the reason for the bad rich idle when the Service Engine Soon light was off. And it runs fine when the light is on. hmmmmmm. So, put the panel back on and getting the side screws back in there place is not fun but getting better at it.
More study was needed and achieved on they subject and learned all kinds of stuff about Oxy Sensors, MAP and MAF operations and, most important , how to test them without just being a parts changer.
So, in wanting to open the hood and look for a few things learned, I find I can't get the hood latch lever to work. When I put the bottom cover back on, I pinned it. So, off with the cover again, make sure the lever is free and starting getting the awful little screws back in there place. Sucess with 2 of 3 but that will work as had to shut down and get ready to take wife out for birthday meal.

Other things is a wedding we went to last Saturday and seeing one of my fav coz going though Chemo. Neat to visit and talk to him, his wife and kids. But not neat to see what Chemo is doing to him.
Went to Basile and visited with another cuz that I had not seen in a while. He on serious meds and new home bound. But , neat catching up. Seems like I'm the only cuz still getting around to visit others. But, that's been that way for a long time. I go but never expect to see them come. Good because I'm not home lots anyway during the mid day or afternoons.
That about catches me up on most things for this trip to the blog. So, till the next.

21 August 2016

Good thing is , water levels dropping ever so slowly. Lake Arthur did a major effort to stop the water along the lake with sandbags and plywood. So far, so good.

Not a lot of roaming on my part due to afternoon rains. Quick morning runs though. A trip to Basile and maybe visit a cuz but he was not home so Luce and I aimed the car back to Jennings.  A couple morning rides on the KLR. So, need to get Suzy out soon for a good run.

On the vette,  took time to learn all how the front drivers seat works and put together. Might try a towel to keep back from sweating so much on the leather.
Decided to attempt a fix on the driver's side spoiler. Took it off and straighten the bracket. Cleaned and did an attempt at gluing about a 10 inch rip on the plastic it'self. Didn't hold. So put the wire wheel to it to ruff it up lots and try again with the Gorilla glue.  We'll see later today if it's going to work or another direction.  Maybe just drill little holes and zip ties.

But, engine seems to be better with the service engine soon light staying on less and less. Still rough at idle though.

The truck and the air conditioner is showing low pressure in it's operation again. Gonna try getting the system hot and tighten up on all the connections that were broken to change out the pump a few years ago. Gotta be a leak somewhere's .

Wedding yesterday evening for a cuz way down the list. Let's see, My first cousin on my mom's side. Well, his son's son got married. So , went to keep him company. No good seeing him fighting with Chemo aftermath and bald headed. But , it's what it is.

Wife leaving for her sister's this morning for a few days so just me and Da Luce here. Love it really. And, nothing really changes except the noise level of wife doing things about the house.

This morning,  MotoGP racing for sure.

17 August 2016

The main word in south Louisiana is Flood Waters. Every Gully, Bayou, River and Lake in the flood stage. I'm lucky to live in one of the high places in Jennings. The amount of rain Louisiana recieved was just too much too fast. Here at my home I had over 14" in about 36 hours. Then, yesterday, another 1.6 inches from fast passing storms.
I follow the Nat'l Rain gauge at Mermentau for how high the water is and the flow going down the river.

The top one is river height at present with the red line at 4 ft being flow stage. So 11 feet is well above.

And this one is the flow of the water in feet per second. As you can see, it's maxed out.

A few more pics I've saved ,

The Regatta in Lake Arthur is still good and hopeing this fine place is high enough for the next day or too before the water is suppose to crest and start going down.

Have not done a whole lot exciting to mention unless a person would consider cutting a wet yard with a self propelled power mower and un-clogging it a few times. Still have the back yard to cut. But, needed the break after the front.

With all the high water about, not been doing to much riding about the country side on either bike or the car or the truck.

Next project with the car is getting the horns working. But, be next month or so before the money is free for that. 335 insurance payment and wedding present is taking care of extra moneys for this month.
No hurry, Next inspection on it due in November so a few months to figure that one out.

13 August 2016

Rain is the name of the Game since yesterday. And, looks like it's going to be here for the weekend for sure and maybe longer. Already many road clousures to the East along US 90.  Kinda feel for the people in the low areas.
But, brings back what my Dad told me when I was looking to buy this old house in 1969. Go ask the old neighbors about flooding , sewer, water, etc. I did. Never regretted it.
Not a lot happen lately with the weather being as such and not really needing to get out in it. Watching Olympics and Bassmasters Elite Tourney and more today.

The car was running kinda ruff yesterday due to not having run it in a few days and the moisture that the ignition does not like. But, got a few more things done with it.
Checked fuse for horn and it's good and even a 20 amp where it calls for a 15.
Then went though the storage compartments. Started with the back one over the jack and tested assorted fuses and light bulbs in there. Just found one bad and to the trash it went.  Put the rest in a zip lock bag with a towel under them. Also put the adapter I built to fit the wheel lugs in there.
Found a piece of carpet cut in a pattern for something and lo and behold, it fit perfect in the console storage compartment.
Then the arm rest compartments checked and cleaned. The passenger side cover loose so took it off and found the plastic broke. So, glued that back together and put it back together. Could not get the upholstery to stay down so more glue added to that and have it in the hold down position with 3 vice grips at present. Will go check on it soon.
Still learning everyday on the car.

11 August 2016

Pooo Yiiiiiiiii what a rain storm yesterday afternoon. One thing for sure. It made short work of the idea that a 12 x 12 Canopy would work for keeping the sun off my truck cab during the day.
this does not stand a chance again a violent thunderstorm. 2 legs bent at 90 Degrees plus 2 sections of upper stanchions and their screws bent.

So spent the last hour taking it down, unscrewing the sections, folding the cloth and putting all away.
The reason for this attempt was I can't have a permanent structor no closer to the center of the road than my garage is. Oh well, live and learn.

Other things was checking to see if the glue job on the console cover on the car would work and so far, tis.
Due to aggervating bad muscle in right lower back from scare tissue while messing with the console lid a few days ago, I've not done a bunch that wud make it worst. Gotta let it heal a couple days then we all good. I hope.  '

Wife wanted to run though changing a tire on her Nissan Rouge so sat back and watched her do it and helped her with instructions and demos to make the job easier for her. Then built a little cheater pipe for her tire wrench to make that job easier.  Checked air in the spare quicky tire which needs to be 60 psi and found it on 30 psi. It and most units I've seen, you have to near take the tire out to check the pressure. Same on my Vette. But, my truck, I've turned the spare around because you can, and have the valve where I can check and fill it from under neath the truck but I don't have to take it down,

So, with heavy storms predicted for this afternoon and overcast at present, into cooking a pot of beans in the cool house.

09 August 2016

Most of the branches next door loaded on the trailer and haul to the land fill yesterday morning early. A few more things to do just to make it look better even though it's free work on my part.

Spent more time watch TV lately due to the Games than in the past months.

Car running better every time. Took it back to Mark's to get the ac checked for leaks and charged. All is good  plus, he gives me tips on care of it. His two tips yesterday of drilling a hole at the bottom of the hood latches so they won't hold water and rust is a done deal.
The rigging up of a small braided line to each release  and run to the windshield wiper compartment done also. If you break a cable and can't get the hood open, Not good.
Then fiberglassed the bad spot on the right front of the cab cage where it was broken from something hitting it. Now it's water proof again.
Then worked on the console lid to make the screws work with glue. We'll see!

Wife and I cleaned up around the berry vines and near filled up the trash container with stuff.

Other than cutting grass, piddling  and messing with the Vette, not lots happening.

05 August 2016

Several things of note in the last week.
Truck > Back home and all fixed in the rear department. Even redone the left side which was bent years ago. Plus a new bumper. Great work from Miller's Body Shop on LA 102 North of Jennings.
Worked up a good sweat putting the foam and carpet back in the rear and putting spare tires for trailers and other items that could come in handy on the road.
Luce also glad to have her truck back so she and stand on the console and see what's happening. Which, she can't do in the Vette.

Vette > Mark's Auto changed out spark plugs, repaired a bad wire and fix vaccum leak on the distributor. Still runs a bit rough at idle speeds but fine down the road. Course , just put one hot ride in it after wife dropping me off at Marks. Roanoke to Raymond to Hathaway to Jngs.  With both windows down it did cool things off enough where the steering wheel was not so hot.
Changed out windshield wiper blades and, as usually , replacements never fit just right. So , abandon the instructions that were not working out anyway and just use zip ties to hold them in place.
Still have to shut off the ignition to make them turn off.  Future fix for sure.
Also cleaned spare tire compartment and put tire I got off ebay for 75 bucks in there. All is good in that department now.
Next will be back to Marks on Monday for AC check.

Nothing new with the bikes since the luggage change out. '
Nothing new with the boat cept the bayou and rivers here are eat up with duck weed. So, waiting for that to clear a little.  Heard it was even pretty covered up at Lake Arthur , sheesh!

Lot on side of our home is starting to look good with all the structure gone, lots of dirt added and one or two small trees gone.  I'll probably need to do some picking up and vine cutting to make it easier to cut the grass. But, it's all good.

31 July 2016

July on it's last day of 2016. And wife been sick for the last 4 days and says she's getting better. I'm staying clear. ;-)
Inquired about the truck status Friday and still missing one part to being finished so we'll hope for Monday if possible. Told them, not a problem, just curious. Probably check on the Vette status Monday during the  day and see what progress is being made on it's Woes about the engine. Then can start learning more about it. Did receive the replacement spare tire for it a few days ago so ready to go.
On the KLR, another front LED sig light went dead. But, had a set of spares so installed new fronts with regular bulbs in them. More visible anyway and stick out more.
Another change to the bikes was putting the Givi Monokey tail trunk back on it and putting the Cooscase on the KLR. Now, have 2 extra hard tail boxes just sitting on the shelf.

Didn't like how dry the Fig wine came out so poured it in one of my 3 gallon containers and the container started leaking wine all over the work bench so had to quickly get out one of the 6 gallon jugs and put it there. Added about 2 cups of sugar to 3 gallons of wine and letting it set to make sure the yeast don't come back to life. We'll sample it again in a few days and rebottle it.

Did service the battery in the Wife's Nissan yesterday. Cleaned the post, applied electric grease and painted with clear paint over everything on top of the batter. Especially the posts.

Now, let's see what this day will bring. Probably a good ride on Suzy the Bandit just not sure what direction yet. ;-)

27 July 2016

Hello Wednesday and it's payday for the SS peeps in my group today. Ya!
Did get the Vette to the shop Monday morning. And, no work yet on the truck that's been in the body shop since Monday the 18th. But, will be done when done. Still have my two motorcycles to do what I really need and want to do. Plus, they are great on gas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Not lots going on by cutting grass in my yard and the neighbor's yard. Mine , about every 5 or so days the way it's growing, the neighbor's , try to make it at least two weeks and get paid for it also. Every 60 bucks helps in gas and maintenance.
Got the Factory 1995 Corvette manuals in yesterday and WOW  Big Books. So, unless something really exciting happens, I'll be studying them on and off for awhile.

Nice little 95 mile ride yesterday in an unusual coolness about the air. 86 Plus F instead of mid 90's. Bandit and I visited Evangeline, Iota, Maxie, Rayne, Kaplan, Gueydan, Lake Arthur, Jennings. Saw storms to the South out of Kaplan to Greydan, but the rest was clear.

Plus about 10 miles on the KLR thoughout the day. So, all is good in the life.

25 July 2016

Well, after washing the car before bringing it to the shop for work, I did take a decent picture of it.

Yesterday, decided to check the spare tire which the PO ( Previous Owner ) had no idea there was one. Yuk, Tire deflated and unseated at the bead, full of mud and water. No way the supplied socket would take off the wheels.
So, took the tire apart and tired to salvage but an hour or so of wasted labor as it would not hold air anymore. Date on the tire was 4 week of 94 so it's way old and cracked. Got a replacement coming from Ebay.
No word on the Truck yet from the body shop but hopefully this week. No hurry, not going anywhere I can't do on one of the motorcycles. Just gotta watch out for the rain is all.
Been a great day and did get some riding in on the KLR , having to dodge rain a time or two. Then again for a trip to the store and to Darrel's for a beer or 2 or 4. LOL . All is good and watching Netfilix at present.
Till the next.

23 July 2016

As times flies by and I'm lazy about my blog. Several things have happened since my last entry.

Flat rear tire on the KLR about a mile past US 165 on LA 101.  Tried to break the tire down on the road but could not break the bead. So, called friend to hook up my trailer to truck for wife to come get me. She was not happy about that. But she and a friend came. But, passed me as she was driving too fast. Then puts the truck in reverse, forgetting about the trailer back there. Jackknife city damaging the right rear fender but missing the exhaust.
So, truck in shop for repair since Monday the 18th.  Should have it back next week early.

Then , tore down rear tire off KLR and tube split where nail had punchered  it. So , would have not been able to repair it anyway. Put new tube I had in shop and order a spare.

Next item of interest is

A 1995 C4 Corvette I bought from a friend. Many little things wrong with it I can fix. But, engine running really ruff so an appointment Monday the 25th with Mark's Auto to see what it needs there.
So far, Have disconnected hood light, fixed console door, changed oil and filter, washed underneath with pressure washer.  Greased to ball joints but gonna have to pull the front tires off to do the bottom one.
Still learning something about it everyday.

Next was bottling last batch of wine made from Figs. Had started the batch at 1.07 sg and finished at .998 sp which is about 10% alcohol by volume. Pretty dry but, will mix with grape wine that came out too sweet for me to see how that does.  May just add a bit of sugar and hope the yeast is dead being as I have it bottled already. ;-)

Mowed grass across the street also yesterday so stayed sweaty most of the day. Today , chill day, I think. LOL!  May see about that grease zerk on the vette though. Well see!

Till the next.

03 July 2016

Already into July by a few days and time flys by.  Things of note from the past week or so kinda goes as such.
Did a little work with the GoPro set up on any old road North of Basile that used to be gravel and rough years  back when we would travel it on our DR350's. One of my travel buds is gone now and another about gone from cancer. But, I'll ride the roads in memory of them till I can't any more.
Was fun re learning to edit the film strips , plus learn some new software to edit them.. The KLR's suspension worked well on the old roads from North Basile to Oakdale.

Just about finished with the dewberry season and have made over 5 gallons of wine from them and it's all bottled up. Did re rack it today into smaller bottles.
The dew berry, the muscadine, the banana.
The only Banana bottle of wine I have left and saving it for aging and ditto on the two other bottles. But, have many bottles of both the muscadine and the dewberry. I think I'm going to cut it down to doing about 3 gallons of wine at a time instead of 5 or so.  Probably need to get some fig and watermelon wine started also.  Have not picked figs for the last few days so it's gonna be a lot of them tomorrow.

On the bikes these past couple weeks. Changed out the front LED signal lights on the KLR.  About half of the others had quit working.  I do have a set of regular lights if I get fed up with these LEDs having to deal with the KLR's voltage spikes.
And did cross the 48,000 mile mark on the KLR today in a short little 30 some what mile ride about.

The Suzy just keeps on purring. But, with it shorter suspension, I only do smooth stuff with it.  I did get it out for a few good rides last week in riding with a friend to Intracoastal City and Freshwater City. At least it's black top all the way to Freshwater now.

Was going to take the boat out last Thursday but hurt my back again that morning early so that and riding bikes till today was out. Probably Tuesday , after the 4th of July and things get back to normal from the holiday, the boat and I will get some water time.  Still get the urge to just sell it and quit the boats once in awhile.  But, then I do like roaming about the lakes and bayous with it at times. Plus, it's paid for, as everything else I own.

Also had the washing machine fixed this past week and that was near 400 bucks. Working better than it ever has  so really should of called them first time it started messing up a few years back.  Still had a month warranty on it but no luck in getting ahold of them.

Back feeling betta and may go ride some more in the morning while it's cool. We'll see.

22 June 2016

Up way to early this morning. Sigh!  Was thinking of going do some water time with the boat but chatting with an old friend and he wants to ride his bike to a few places so agreed to ride with him. Have not been to either one in a long time. Intracoastal City and Freshwater City. Both off LA 82 South. Now, if the Weather Gods with agree with us.

The House Destruction bidding is  done and I'm out of it and back to my cutting the grass when needed. ;-) Will be nice to have that beat up place gone and just 2 empty lots.

Da Truck air conditioner is back working great after an 80 dollar visit to the mechanic shop to have it tested for leaks and refilled.  In the 13 years I've had that truck, hmmmmmm.  Speedometer cluster changed out in warranty , ac compressor changed out, radio changed out, 3 rd set of tires, 3 set of shocks, brakes redone, and, normal maintenance. Love my truck with 86 K miles on it.

Washing machine guy came by also yesterday to troubleshoot problem. Needs selector arm and or circuit board. So best to just change both out at a bit under 400 bucks for parts and labor with a years warranty on the parts. And a new warranty policy starting next month for the whole machine.  Was amazed when he told me usually about 5 yrs service on a Whirlpool machine and 8 yrs on a Samsung. We have a Whirlpool washer and Samsung Dryer.  So, the service guy is slated to return Thursday afternoon to fix our machine.

Did bottle 10  1.5 liters bottles of Muscadine wine a couple days ago and now gathering bottles for the 5.5 gallons of Dewberry wine.

Till the next!!!!!!!!!!

18 June 2016

Big Saturday and already in a sweat. Did get a mile plus walk in to loosen the body up this early morning then washed the truck. Back in the chill mode before getting on the KLR for a ride about the city.

Put yeast killers in the wine yesterday as they are tasting just about right. Gonna end up bottling about 9.5 gallons of wine next week. Both tasting good and the alcohol content pretty good also.

Still have not road the Bandit since the rough roads with it a few weeks ago and my lower back. KLR been getting most all the duties the truck don't do. Want to go see a friend and her benefit at Myres Landing today so probably take Bandit out for that. Need to preflight it first this morning.

Getting bids on tearing down the house next door and with all the trash in it, gonna be some extra loads and expense. First bid was 7800 bucks which is a medium bidder I was told. Waiting on the proclaimed lower bidder to call me with his price. Then one I need to call Monday to come and bid it also before sending the news to Houston owner.

Pretty much all that has happen in my world since the last post that is worth writing about.  So Till the next

12 June 2016

Wow! Is all I can say about this morning. Less pain in the right side lower back muscle in 2 weeks. Plus, no pain meds for 2 days to hide any. Also, last time I rode the Suzuki down a rough road for an hour or so. Even stayed off the bikes for a week before putting the KLR to use with it's much longer and better suspension for our beat up roads.
Since putting the different size sprocket on the rear of the KLR , the engine turns a little slower helping on vibration just over 4000 rpm. Course, with the changes I've made to the bike of the last year helps out on that also. Exhaust cam advance, carb work, different handle bar set up all work to help that out. And, suspension work on the fork and a new rear shock help that department out lots.

Other things is the wines are doing fine. The Muscadine has a few weeks left before I kill the yeast and bottle it. The Dewberry has a month left. Gonna have more wine than bottles for sure. But, we'll manage. Then comes fig and watermelon wine in the next few months.

Can tell Summer is upon us as I was really soaked with sweat and breathing fast when getting the front and side yards cut yesterday late morning.  Gonna cut the yard across the street next week , but , it's gonna not be done all at once. The ditches have to be cut with the walk behind mower. We'll have to see how much the wet sections have dried before putting the Dixon ZTR there. So, that may be more of the Craftsman lawn mower's job.

And now, we'll just see what this day brings.

10 June 2016

Great rides for a few afternoons in a row. Mostly to the North and South West of Jennings, covering in the 80 miles range and a couple hours in the saddle.  Staying on the KLR due to it's more compliant suspension for the roads I've been traveling on. Gravel and beat up blacktop for the most of it. Rice fields looking good and some crawfish fields starting to drain. But, forgot my kidney belt yesterday so feeling it a bit this morning.

Pulled they Dew berry wine out of the bucket and put it in a bubbler jug and it's back to a set of bubbles every 3 seconds. With the Muscadine Grape wine mix doing a set of bubbles every 15 or so seconds.

With Dewberry on the left and Muscadine on the right.

Fun visiting with an old friend yesterday and need to stop by and visit more often. Many good times in our history.

Another old friend slow going down to cancer of the throat and never smoked in his life.

Hmmmmmmmmm on extended warranty for the Whirlpool washing machine and getting ahold of someone to get an appointment for a service call.  45 mins in 3 calls on automatic hold. Seems the number is in California so no use calling till Noonish here.  Beginning to wonder if they extended warranties are just a rip off.
But, will try again today.

07 June 2016

Already June 7th. The year is flying by for sure. A few things have happened in the last couple weeks.
Did get the boat out for a good run but didn't catch any fish. just a few nibbles.
Some nice rides on Bandit and KLR. Wake up call on running our bad blacktop roads on the Bandit for an afternoon. My right side back muscle so don't like it. Have not worn a Kidney belt in a while but went back to it a few days ago. But, after a week of not riding to let the back heal, on the KLR and the difference on bad roads is so great. Right tool for the job at hand always rules.

Still have the grape wine going , plus, a batch of dew berry wine happening also.  Can sure smell the CO2 emissions when walking into the shop. Started the dew berry on the 30th so stil  very young and bubbling. Did add  about 2 cups of sugar and some yeast nutrient to the Muscadine grape mix and it's still bubbling about making alcohol.

Did a road yesterday on the KLR that I've not done in many years. It is a really small beat up blacktop road now. Need to go back with the go pro set up and continue up past LA 204 and have it on a video.

Other thing is the green LED light I put in a few weeks ago done burnt out with me forgetting it on. Thinking of a different concept on this whole idea. Perhaps some really small turn signals?  Did change oil and cleaned the air filter also in the KLR. I only change the oil filter every second oil change which happens about every 2000 to 2500 miles on the oil change.

Looks like a yard cutting day today. Need to sharpen the blade on the Dixon and do something with the side ejector protector. We'll study it this morning.

Camera things =  a class on the Canon T3i and learning it .  Best 50 bucks I've spent in awhile. My bad was taking pics the other night and not checking the set up on my little Canon G15 and the ISO being maxed out. Made for some very noisy pictures I had to work on in LR4 to get them even worth keeping.  Changed out one of the cameras I was keeping in the truck to the XS50 Canon. Need to start using it more. Also have the Minolta Dimage Z6 in there. Keeping the Canon G16 in the tank bag still. And of course , the T3i stays in the house.

Well that's about it for the day.

26 May 2016

Bateau Nitro and I did finally get some water time yesterday.  Put in at Lakeside 2 and the water was a little high which didn't hinder off loading but made the loading job a bit of work if I didn't want to get my feet wet, which I didn't want to and didn't. ;-)
Motor ran rough at lower rpm but at the end of about an hour's run time, seem to get better. Need to take it out way more often and probably will have to bite the bullet sooner or later and clean the carbs and set them.
Looks like a grass cutting day on the neighbors yard today, Suppose to get some rains tomorrow so gonna get it done while I can use the Dixon for most all of it.
Batch of grape wine coming along good on it's 4th day. Still bubbling like crazy. Trying something a little different on this batch as leaving the pulp in a little sack of it's own in the mix till 1st racking.
Today, Me and Da Luce home along as wife goes to work today and tomorrow doing hair at the nursing home. So, We just gonna follow the winds of fate. ;-)

24 May 2016

As time flies by! Not a lot to be excited about , but, less rain. The bayou and rivers still very high and still lots of stuff floating down to the lake.
Bottled up the Banana wine and it turned out pretty good. Gave away quite a few samples in the 350 ml bottles.

Have one of the large bottles aging at present and still about a dozen small bottle left.

Cuz from Tepetate gave me some muscadine grape a few days ago and that is being converted to wine at present. Trying a new style for the first fermenting and just using regular baking yeast so we'll see what that leads to. Hydro reading is 1.075 at the start with 10 lbs of sugar in 4.5 gallons of slush. I took all the skin off the grapes so it's not going to be a dark wine.  Just started yesterday so gonna be awhile.

On the motorcycle front.
Bandit is doing good with the fiber plug I had to put in the rear tire last month. No air loss over normal. Did do a beach run to PA last week and checked out the park North of PA and nothing new there. Then done a straight I 10 run from Orange to Jennings,  Been awhile since run that much interstate road.
KLR  burned out the right LED signal indicator light so replace it with a green one this time. Left the Left side red.  Last fill up was 4.01 gallons for 240.8 miles on the ometer. So , the new sprocket combo I put on  is doing good.  15/42 is the set up now over 15/43 stock. Also makes 1st gear a bit more usable for what I do.
Other than that, I just try to ride one of them everyday. ;-)

Let's see.  There was the Police and EMS memorial service last Thursday and had to all be held indoors due to rain. About 100 peeps attended according to the newspaper. Get to see a lot of the peeps I use to work with in that function. But, so many new ones. LOl Us old ones keep retiring or dying off.

Really nothing happening boat wise due to the high water and trash in the water.

That's about it for this go round so till the next.
