Bateau Nitro and I did finally get some water time yesterday.  Put in at Lakeside 2 and the water was a little high which didn't hinder off loading but made the loading job a bit of work if I didn't want to get my feet wet, which I didn't want to and didn't. ;-)
Motor ran rough at lower rpm but at the end of about an hour's run time, seem to get better. Need to take it out way more often and probably will have to bite the bullet sooner or later and clean the carbs and set them.
Looks like a grass cutting day on the neighbors yard today, Suppose to get some rains tomorrow so gonna get it done while I can use the Dixon for most all of it.
Batch of grape wine coming along good on it's 4th day. Still bubbling like crazy. Trying something a little different on this batch as leaving the pulp in a little sack of it's own in the mix till 1st racking.
Today, Me and Da Luce home along as wife goes to work today and tomorrow doing hair at the nursing home. So, We just gonna follow the winds of fate. ;-)

24 May 2016

As time flies by! Not a lot to be excited about , but, less rain. The bayou and rivers still very high and still lots of stuff floating down to the lake.
Bottled up the Banana wine and it turned out pretty good. Gave away quite a few samples in the 350 ml bottles.

Have one of the large bottles aging at present and still about a dozen small bottle left.

Cuz from Tepetate gave me some muscadine grape a few days ago and that is being converted to wine at present. Trying a new style for the first fermenting and just using regular baking yeast so we'll see what that leads to. Hydro reading is 1.075 at the start with 10 lbs of sugar in 4.5 gallons of slush. I took all the skin off the grapes so it's not going to be a dark wine.  Just started yesterday so gonna be awhile.

On the motorcycle front.
Bandit is doing good with the fiber plug I had to put in the rear tire last month. No air loss over normal. Did do a beach run to PA last week and checked out the park North of PA and nothing new there. Then done a straight I 10 run from Orange to Jennings,  Been awhile since run that much interstate road.
KLR  burned out the right LED signal indicator light so replace it with a green one this time. Left the Left side red.  Last fill up was 4.01 gallons for 240.8 miles on the ometer. So , the new sprocket combo I put on  is doing good.  15/42 is the set up now over 15/43 stock. Also makes 1st gear a bit more usable for what I do.
Other than that, I just try to ride one of them everyday. ;-)

Let's see.  There was the Police and EMS memorial service last Thursday and had to all be held indoors due to rain. About 100 peeps attended according to the newspaper. Get to see a lot of the peeps I use to work with in that function. But, so many new ones. LOl Us old ones keep retiring or dying off.

Really nothing happening boat wise due to the high water and trash in the water.

That's about it for this go round so till the next.

08 May 2016

Think we'll do this stretch in a couple posts instead of one large one.
So on May 5th some more > Pondering on the flooding happening in our area and in wonderment of how much flooding is caused by Catfish Locks to keep the salt water from destroying crops in the area. When you combine the Laccasine Bayou area with the Mermentau River area and it all has to go through Catfish Locks to get to the Gulf. Hmmmmmm.

Did get the Next door abandon house's yard cut Thursday  , about 1/3 with the Self propelled mower and the 2/3s with the Dixon ZTR. So that was 60 bucks in the pocket ;-)

My ride about yesterday had me passing though some roads that I could not have passed on just a few days ago. Especially Powell Road from Elton, through the Reservation to LA 26, not far from Oberlin. By the way, they have completed the new store at Coushatta Tribe area. Even gasoline.
Then my journey carried on following 26 till it's end at US 171. Then South over the Calcasieu River and over to Loggerhead to check out the boats about the place. A stop at Hot To Trot to visit a friend for a bit then onwards to Jtown to end a good day.
Now, MotoGP racing. Ta Daaaaaaaa

6 350ML bottles of Banana wine corked and ready for sampling. Ta Daaa. Fair dry and may add just a touch of sugar wink emoticon We'll see what the public opinion be. Plus picked the rest of the cumquarts off the trees as it's starting to bud. And some of the Dew berries are starting to be red. ;-)

Till The Next.
Wow! Already the 8th of May! Hmmmmm Things of interest for the last few weeks would be.
On April 30th >  good afternoon! After a bad start with cutting my finger tip with a pair of cutting pliers. LOL Went and picked up my buddy and to Old River Road and places we did go in Da TRuck. Houssiers' park > water over the bottom part of the wharf; To White Oak Park to check it out ; To Loggerheads as he had not been there and enjoyed a couple beers; To 171 boat launch and rap with some peeps there, then to check the work going on at another launch they be rebuilding and then to Welch and Hot To Trot for a been and visit with an old friend there That did it.

And on May 1st > Well, after my journeys yesterday afternoon , and, seeing all the high water, and, hearing thunder and checking radar this morning, the flooding is fixing to happen. Gonna be a while before Da Bateau Nitro gets to see some water under it's hull. And the wheels of Da KLR or Bandit rolling down the roads to where ever the winds of fate blow us, not gonna happen today. Looks like a shop and garage and my room day. Plus, a Brand New Month. Welcome May and I see as of yesterday, your little black bugs are already out and committing suicide on what ever they see coming on the highways. Sigh!

Yahoo! Electricity lives in the house again. Tree branch broke some power lines down the street so it took a few hours for the City and Electric company to get things done. All in the life of a city full of trees.

And on May 2nd with all the heavy rains pounding us, BayouNezpique was flooding at the park.

Then on May 4th , Bandit and I took off for Sulphur and down 27 to Holly Beach and 82 W to Port Authur and up to Orange, stopping at the War Memorial in North PA and I 10ed it back to Jennings.

Then the 5th rolled around and
Keyaw! Hello Wednesday morning! Even saw stars out when Luce and I went out side at about 04:45. I was amazed! So , gathered GPS and Camera off Bandit for downloading track file and what started at 92 pictures. Wow! Didn't think I had taken that many. Course , first run through them cause all but about 70 somewhat to be kept for processing a bit later this morning. Then Track File was downloaded from GPS to Computer. In the chill mode and not long before I go drag Da Luce out of bed to go for our walk.
