22 October 2022

And October going by pretty fast and sure has changed my normal activities of visiting friends here and there for a bit in the afternoons. Don't want to leave the wife along for very long as she still in trouble with shoulder and foot also.

The foot had been have a bruise in the arch and a little swelling but with all the other problems, put on the back burner. Finally address that this week and yes, more broken stuff. The middle bone near the center of the arch. So , got her a boot to wear bet she's not agreeing with it most times. Ditto with her sling. Oh well. We'll find out next Friday on the Doc visit in LD town if the should joint gonna have to be replaced.

Started the project to line the South side of the house with wind blockers also. Got the last 5 pieces of old metal roofing cut and ready for painting and drilling rod holes.

The sister in law > Ella <  will be having a hip replacement after a couple months of trying to avoid it which just made the joint worst and the pain terrible.

Did cut my grass last Tuesday for the heck of it. And Dee's yesterday mainly just to run the lawn mower.  Bought back the little unit I had gave her as it would not start. Took all the old gas out of it and put fresh gas and bingo , runs good. Then cleaned it as that had not been done since I gave it to her over a year ago.

Started using the wife's Nissan Rouge more so it just don't sit there not being used and go bad. LOL also giving my Traverse Wagon a break from everyday rolling some where's.

17 October 2022

Whew! Been a hell of a ride the last week for sure.  Sunday, while I was out on my morning walk, da Wife dizzed out and fell in the bathtub. Got home and found her in bed in pain. Bruises and separated shoulder was the outcome.

Put her in the hospital Monday afternoon after seeing her color the next day and blood pressure not coming up and stool way too dark. They went to work on the body rather than the shoulder. Daughter and I swapping out time with her at all times. Thier bed sucks. ha ha ha ha.

So, her location from Monday afternoon till Thursday morning.

Stomach ulcers, intestinal bleeding, very low BP.  88/40 was the last I had taken. Much meds, 2 units of blood, stomach scans and others also, color and BP back to normal. So, after 4 days, way better and appointment in Lake Charles Thursday morning for shoulder work.

Can't thank the staff at the Jennings Hospital enough for the care and attention and friendliness they showed us.

Picked up my Niece , Trisha Taylor Manual in Welch on the way to LC and was great cause she knew where we was headed precisely. Memorial Hospital.

Verdict was bad separation of the left shoulder joint. Showed us pictures and got a good sling to support it when on her feet. Keeping it on her keeping me busy. LOL!  Back to see them in two weeks to check on healing > OR < shoulder replacement.

Besides that, Determined that the horizonal raise garden was a bust this year.  Was told needed to build a cover to keep the sun heat under control.  Hmmmmm.  But, with the pain of weed eating every week around all that stuff. And the very low output from the plants that didn't live long.  I decided to go back to the ground next year next to North end of the shop and garage. So, project this winter is moving the soil, setting up the borders and getting rid of the split drums.

And the pressure washer is running right after adding Techron and lots of running. Teach me to let it set a long time without use. And I do run the generator once a month for 30 minutes to an hour to keep it  in shape. Four little gas engines to keep happy. Generator, Pressure washer and two Lawn mowers.

04 October 2022

This month has really flown by. But not a lot of new stuff happening on this end.

Did make a few gallons of Fig wine. Then decided to add peanut butter extract to a couple bottles. A different extract than the last time and even putting a bit on yur finger , didn't taste the P'nut butter. So added more and after it set a few days.  WOW! Too much flavor. Oh well, live and learn.

For sure not going to do that with this batch of grape wine I'm doing now. Check it yesterday and it's at about 12.2 ABV and still bubbling when the temperature gets to about 70F in the shop.

Then , decided to redo the wind blockers for the house for the winter winds and temperatures. Had a stack of old roofing metal. So let's see what we can come up with.  Made a couple cuts and drilled holes for the rods to hold them in place.

Next was pressure washing  them and painting.

The rods came from the little frames you see holding flowers at the graveyard. They just get thrown away by the maintenance crews so I gathered, cut and bent them.

And, all the metal sheets painted and ready to install. Before the 1st cold front for sure.

Oh, did take a ride be the new Drilling Rig being rebuilt since the hurricanes took out the old one.  Really coming along nice.

All this located at the I 10 Park.

So, onwards with this month of October and see what life brings and smile with it.
