29 February 2020

Well.,  the Leap Year day is upon us for sure. Gotta round out the universe ya know.
Knee is still not behaving as I want it to but such is life.  Know peeps with way more knee problems than I have. ;-)  And at present, have the heat pad on it to aid the attempt at more healing.

Still waiting on results of the MRI.  Sigh!  Some peeps told me they had it in a few days and my docs office says a month plus. Oh well,  such is life.

Ready for this cold weather to be gone! March should pretty much be the end of it but you never know or under estimate Maw Nature.  She don't have a habit of listening to anyone but herself.

Did get some grass cut and weed eating done in the back yard last week and need to pass over the front yard as soon as I think I can get my knee to agree.  LOL!

Have not been doing my walk much since pulling that interior ligament on my bad left knee and missing that. But, at least that is getting better.

Other things,  Hmmmmmmm. Oh yes, had the class and friends meet at Mike's seafood yesterday evening.   Bobby Smith and his wife Kathy,  Danny Legros , myself and Brenda da Wife.  Great time talking about this and that and nice little fried catfish meat. Put me 60 bucks down with the tip but well worth it.  Great little waitress was in charge of us and fun so that earned her my 15 bucks change from the bill.  LOL.

But,  wife already gave me 20 for our normal Saturday meal from the little church on W Division.

As per the rest of the day, Hmmmmmmmmm.   We'll see about what the Winds of Fate blow up.

And the 2000 Kawasaki KLR 650 has left and went to a new home. Sad as it is, it's time to seperate myself from motorcycles due to back problems.  But, it went to a good home for sure.

Other than that, car back with new shift cable and it back to being pert near daily ride.

Then with help of Bren da wife , pulled apart drainage of the bathroom sink and flush with outside hose. Helped a bit but still not right.  Then she picked up a snake cable apparatus and we'll try that later on.
Sigh! Everything getting old on this old home, including us.  But , 51 years here this year so it's been a trip from what we bought in 1969 to now.

Then, another neighbor met his decease yesterday morning. Wayne Ledbetter. RIP Wayne, even though we never visited much, it was always a friendly wave. LOL and he had bought the whole block where he lived plus two other places in the hood. Even the one next door to me for one of his grand kids.

Well onwards with life and still waiting on the results of an MRI that was done on my back a few weeks back. Was told keep waiting as it usually takes a month or better for results. Wow!

04 February 2020

And today, The vette went to Racin Ragin for some work on it that I can't do any more. Sigh!  Need to invest in a 2 post lift for sure.
The fun was figuring out how the start system worked on the vette with a broken shift cable. Finally it came to . Jack the rear up, put in in Park so you could start it/ then on the transmission, put it in the gear you needed.  Have someone hold the brakes while you let the jack down, then swap and drive away.
Oh yes, on the way to the shop, the car crossed the 148,000 mile mark. I bought it 2 yrs 10 months ago with 109, 426 miles on it. Not a garage queen like most vets are for sure.

Other than that, not a lot happen since last entry.

01 February 2020

As time flys and we are at the 1st day of February already.
Finally went to see Dr Wilder to determine what in the heck is wrong with my back and next came an MRI. This was a week ago. Still  waiting on results on that trip.

The luck hit as I was getting in the car to take off and the shifting cable end broke.  So up on the quick jacks and it was the transmission end that broke. Ordered bushings . Attempt to install bushing and found not enough room to do it without pulling the exhaust. So,  back bolts out. front bolts really tight and one broke and of course with no gloves on skinned hand when the bolt broke. So, we finished with that project for awhile.  Gonna have to get it picked up and delivered to Ragin Racin and just change out the whole cable. And fix the broken stud. Just not enough room for me over here to do it.
Plus, I didn't do my back any good and it's letting me know about it. LOL!

Other things were our Friday meeting of the class of '61 which I'm an adapted member.

And , still like roaming the graveyard but so many sections very wet being as we can't get more than a few days without some rain.

Truck doing good and the other 3 vehicles on battery tender at present. But, do run the bikes about every week till the fan comes on for a bit to keep the engines dry. Hate to but looks like I'm gonna have to sell both of them.

Learning Photoshop for something to do and what a learning curve for this old forgetful mind.  Ha ha ha. But, keeping at it.

Presently gonna wait on Ragin Racin to answer my message which I just sent yesterday evening after 5PM so not expecting lots till Monday.
