The Garage 30Jul20

I did rearrange the garage a bit in the last few days. Moved the work table and tool box to the West Wall and clean up things.

The West Wall with Lawn Mower, Cabinet, Work Table, Tool Box, Trailer and stuff. ;-)

The North Wall where the tool box and work table were.  Now shelving , extension cords plugged in, ramps, Hyd unit for Quick Jacks. More shelving. And table.

At the upper left is the insulation I put up that was being used to block the North Wind from the house in the winter.  Gonna do something different so put those to use fight the heat. ;-)

Then the East Wall  where you get a good view of the fan and table and jars of stuff , shelving and refrig/freezer combo and long extension cord  with breaker box over it.

Then, here is the lawn mower I just rebuilt the transmission on for about the 6 or 7 th time in it's 21 year life with me.

Bad thing is , that when I rebuilt it , I generally order parts for next rebuild. I notice the front wheel bearing are gonna need changing on the next rebuild.  Surprise surprise,  not available anymore.  I had changed them out about 10 years or so ago.  So , gonna be the last rebuild on the old Craftsman.

Then here is looking out the door to the East with the Welding/working table, two chairs Carport and Truck making it'self at home while the wife is away at work.
So on with life for now.

The ending of July 2020

As the end of July 2020 nears, may as well catch up on things.
The Vette been in the shop for a couple things , one simply, the other not. Want to change out the a/c pulleys and tenshioner as getting a belt squeal.  Then there's the hard part < finding what is shorting out the taillight fuse when getting wet.
Went to the shop Monday the 13th and I reckon I'll go check on it tomorrow.

Fig production went down big time.  For a few days was getting a little over a gallon perday. Gave away about 4 gallons and still have 7.5 gallons in the freezer along with 6 gallons of dewberries. So, plenty of stuff to make wine with or trade some for other fruits.

The Craftsman riding lawnmower didn't work out. Way too much trouble in my short little yard so sold it at about a 500 buck loss but it was stimulis money and got 800 for it so a gain of 670 bucks instead of 1200. LOL.
Did repair the walk behind front wheel drive Craftsman , again.  Pert near a yearly thing. Was wanting to order parts for it but can't get the special wheel bearing any more. So , decided to just run it till it wears out the gear again and buy a new one. I'll do research on that and pick it up local probably.  Really liking what I'm seeing on the Toro rear wheel drive units.

Did move some stuff and rearrange in the garage the last few days.  Even hung up some old insulation on a section of the roof and for sure gonna do the rest of it with roll stuff.  And moved the table and tool box to the side as having the truck in there take up more space  than the Vette.

13 July 2020

Hello July 13th already

Update on the painting is 1st,  Did take a few days off to let Brenda rearrange her stuff and now just the last part of the carport to do then border paint.

And the view from the the driveway to camouflage her cabinets. ;-)

Then finally did get my act together and find the reason the Vette was blowing the taillight fuse.
So we all good after cleaning and dilectric grease on everything.
And the car goes to Mark's Auto today for A/C pully squeal that changing the belt didn't help.
And did cross the 154 thousand mile mark on the ometer this last week.

And the Figs got in season. Probably about 7 gallons picked so far and 4 given away. Still aways to go with it.  And of course the  Kumquat and Grapefruit trees are full. And the little satsuma tree in the 1/2 barrel coming along. Noticed bug trails on the leaves so sprayed with a dawn solution to see what happens there.  Have about 1/2 dozen little fruits on it.
 And today, the painting continues.

05 July 2020

Painting Carport, Vette Problems, Dew Berry and Figs.

Well Hello July!
The painting continued getting to the carport sections now.  Have the East side done cept for trim.

And next is going to the be West side and may start on it tomorrow with the outlining of the corners and paint brush stuff.

And another problem with the Vette. A few weeks ago a fuse went out in a rain storm taking out the fog, side, tail, and dash lights. And head lights worked but would not retract when shut off. Still had signal lights and brake lights so good to drive in the day.  Found the bad fuse and changed it and all was back to normal with several tests on the headlights retracting when turned off.

Then hit a rain storm a few days ago and lost the same lights as soon as I attempted the running lights on the multifunction lever on the left. Attempted to fine out which part of the car was blowing the fuse to unplugged each , the front nose light, fog lights and rear end lights. Still burnt the fuse. So, we be done on what we can do.
Off to Mark's Auto tomorrow or when ever he can take it.

Next was the Dew Berry vines on the South fence.  They be gone now,  Decided to see about doing that section with grapes next year.   Did get around 10 gallons of berries and still kept about 6 gallons for wine making.

Top is what it looked like in full production and below is what it looks like now.

All be gone.

But now,  figs starting to get ripe so picking them for the last 4 days and 2 gallons already.
And that about catches us up and till the next.
