Another weeks passes by and pretty much a lot of rain on and off.
Things this last week was A/C went out on the Vette about 20 miles from home and 90F out there on the road. Sigh! Stopped to see if the belt was still happening and was but could not see much else in the bottom of the engine compartment.
So, windows down, radio off and finished the 80 mile run to Loggerheads and back with a glass of wine at the place. So reminded of the old days of no A/C and rode about all over the place.
So checked it out the next morning and fuses good, and change relay just incase and check pressures which were equal and then really looked at compressor and saw it was not engaging the A/C clutch.
So, to a friends shop it went and told him what all I did. He called back with A > Relay not getting signal from the PBM computer that is stashed behind the passengers side front wheel well. And a couple hundred bucks to run another wire. Go for it.
Then a call Wednesday afternoon and Your Car Is Ready. 320 bucks well worth it for the labor and know how. LOL, left front tire , inner wheel well and underneath panel has to come off to get to the computer and it has to come out a bit to work on it and snake a wire from it to the Passenger side, under the hood fuse box that houses the relay and fuse for the A/C clutch.
A quick 20 mile test ride and we good.

So started getting the section of the carport ready to paint. But no pics as had just brought camera from the cool house to the muggy outside and the lens fogged up. But, worked on blocking some holes at the roof level where we had a bird get trapped last year. I'll finish that today,  Maybe! ;-) Depends how the winds of fate go.

Still picking Dew Berries but really slacking off so started thinning them out yesterday afternoon till Bren got home from work so shut that down till later.

After a quick shower go back out to shut down the Garage/shop areas. And, had to do this pic of the car and truck in their resting places.

22 June 2020

And the last section of the outside of Da Home is finished with the painting. The West side!
Did get 2 more gallons of the bright blue paint as the carport is next on the list and that is gonna be a chore.  But, all under the roof , out of the sun's direct attack and Maw Nature's rain storms.

Then there is Da Vette that decided to have a problem last week. On an afternoon ride, the A/C decided to quit working about 20 miles from home. Did stop at Fenton and check to see if the belt was still there as had that problem before but that was good.  too dark down there to see if the clutch was working also.
So , windows down, music off and continue on to Loggerheads for a glass of wine. Then coming back via the I 10 service road.
Mornings arrives and time to see about the A/C.  Hook up the gauges and 100 lbs both in and out. Hummmmmm.  Light shows clutch not activating.  Check fuse to clutch, good.  Check fuse to ECBM > good.  Just to make sure, go get a new clutch relay, > no help.
Body says it don't want to fight crawling under car to test clutch voltage.
So, a call to Marks Auto and we have a date this morning. And of course rain in the forecast at about 80% for 8AM .
Finally went to Bubba's in the Country Saturday for a glass of wine and was the only one in there for a bit , then one customer came in and as I was getting ready to leave , another worker appears and knew her from another place several months back. So, that called for another glass of wine while we caught up on life since last seeing her. Enjoyed the visit for sure.
Now, onwards with the rest of this day and see what it will bring. ;-)

15 June 2020

Hello Monday the 15th of June.

Wow! Half of June done gone!
Not a lot happening last week cept some more painting on the house.
Was gonna take off the awning at the back of the sewing room but pretty much glued in place so quit fighting it after one and put that one back on.  Will just have to paint what I can reach.

Did pressure wash the set up there and got myself more wet than the house I think. ;)
But that done and waiting for me to get in the mode for the next step.

A few runs in the Vette , of course. And yesterday cross the 153K miles on the ometer.

Then it was dodgeing thunderstorms. As I got to the S99 and 14 junction, it didn't look to pretty good to the east so headed west.

Had not been Rossignal road since all the construction last year so went that way and enjoyed the fresh blacktop to Fruge Road and headed north on it till 90 and into Iowa. Then the service road along I 10 to Jennings.
Fruge Road headed North. Love it.

Did finally get two tv's on the same controller , the bedroom and living room units. As the LR unit had quit working a week or so ago and that unit is very seldom use, I run a wire from that TV to the controller in the bed room.  But, if you want to change channels on the LR unit, gotta do it in the bed room controller.   Now , a trip to Opelousas to return the bad controller and get it off the billing. Maybe today, Maybe tomorrow. ;-)

So, till the next.

12 June 2020

Hello June some more.

Well Hello the 12th Day of June!
What's has happened in the last week or so in my easy style life form. ;-)
More painting on the house in a busy section.  Where the electricity meets the house and gets distributed.

Next is need to take the little metal roof off the sewing room so can clean and paint that and then put that back up.
But, gonna wait of a cloudy day for that as the sun is in it's summer mode of beaming down on that side of the house early on.
Getting lots of tomatoes from the plot Brenda planted.

And the plot of cukes I planted are coming along good and starting to flower. And fixing to redo the 3rd plot but not sure what's to be planted there yet.
Dewberries, Wow !!!!! Have picked about 11 gallons and they are just starting to slow down in production.  But think I'll get rid of about 4 gallons today. Running out of room in the outside Fridge/Freezer.
Gonna have a lot of grapefruit and have a list of peeps that want some, This is good.
And won't be long before figs start happening.
The latest addition , still in a half barrel, the little satsuma tree has about 10 or so little satsuma's on it. Be interesting on how that develops.
And afternoon ride abouts still happening in the Vette and just love the back roads. The truck generally gets the duty in the morning and the car in the afternoons.  Gotta keep them rolling.

03 June 2020

And May is over with!
And , another side of the house done.  The North side.

And did get the steps for the front door repainted and modified a bit. Painted the hand rails also and re-installed them.

Did have an issue with the car a while back as turned on the lights during a rain storm and when I went to turn them off, the doors stayed open.
In a further inspection of it the next morning,  no tail lights, dash lights, foglights, side light. Hmmmm.  Looked it up in a forum and decided to check the ground first as I didn't think a fuse would cause all those problems.
So, pulled the passengers f. wheel off to get to what I thought was a ground point and wrong as it went to the wheel sensor. Duh! So , back on with the wheel and pulled the battery as I had seen and cleaned one under there when first getting the car 3 years ago.
Got it cleaned and back together and sprayed some clear paint on it for protection. Nada good done.
So Checked fuses having to do with lights. #6 Fuse under hood good. So , to the fuse box in the passengers floor to check a taillight fuse there.  Also #6 10Amp. And it was blown.  As soon as put new fuse in, head doors came down. Great! Checked all lights and everything works. Took the car for a test run. All is good.
Cept, had a hard time getting the plus cable hooked up to the battery and further research proved I had run the cable the wrong way.  So, battery back out and corrected that.

That brings us to yesterday where I get a message that a cuz by marriage to my 1st cuz had died.  She had been in back shape so they finally cut oxygen and she went fast. Let some of the family know a and today, we went to the funeral home in Iota to pay respects to the family.
And that's about a wrap on activities.
Besides getting the car inspected for 2 years yesterday morning. So we legal. ;-).
