Then catching up on the house paint job. And the front is finished on my part. As Bren says she's wants to do the porch. Okay!  I'll redo the steps to morrow then.

And the new piece for the Vette came in and I installed it and topped of cooling fluids Wed morn. A quick 6 mile run to get temp up and check for leaks > all good.
Then to Lake Charles for Cardiac appointment and that went great also.  Mainly just questions about my heart's well being and see you in 6 months.
And Thursday rolls about and da wife gets up from her noon nap and I ask " What ya doing? " She > " Fixing to sew"  Me > " Wanna go for a ride about in the country? "   She > " Okay "  87 miles later we return.

Well , perhaps the reservoir for the Vette will arrive today so we can get it back on the road. Truck been getting all the duty for the last several days .

And started on the front of the house outlining around windows and trim with the blue paint. Started in the morning for a few hours then quit after starting to make too many mistakes. But decided to do some more in the late afternoon and got that ready for the roller today and perhaps trim. We'll see.

And now with 3 sunflowers showing their face. And at last look should be another within a day or two.

Did do a little roaming in the truck yesterday on a path that led to the Via Ta Beau Bridge ovr Bayou Nezpique.   Had not been there in a long time. So broke out the rod and reel and played till lost the beatle spin on a stick. Oh well, On around to Riverside road to 97 and home.

Plants happening.

And the Southside of the house is done!  Not bad!

Looking better than though it would with the wife's selection of trim color.
Now , Next, Start on the East side after the rains go away for a few days.

The sun flowers are coming along great. But only two showing their face at the moment. One has been out for about a week and the other about 3 days and not fully awake yet.

Then there is the Grapefruit tree that has many. The fig tree looking very good, And Dew berries in the Getting Ripe and Pick stage. Already have a few dozen in the fridge.

And yesterday was a quick walk about till raindrops interferred. Back to the truck and a spin about town and home. Let it rain to the tune of 2 inches at least. And more in the schedule for today.  Oh well, tis what it tis.
Till the next.

Da House Painting

Hello early in the morn on the 12th day of May 2020.  The moon is shining brightly and a few star visible through the city light pollution.
Shower done, Coffee done, Oatmeal done  3 pills done. Now, the cyber world.
The house painting project slowly taking place as I do till get tired of going up and down the ladder on this trim work.

And We will finish the South side today if the Winds of Fate say so.

Have not been watching the news or websites on how thr virus is doing in the last week. Got bored with the same thing being said over and over.
Has this stuff had much change in my normal life style> Maybe about 5%.  Not much of a visitor or social person anyway. A little drive in bar about 4 blocks from me for some wine and converse about 2 to 3 times a week.

The knee is still not even 90% back and once in awhile I do something that reminds me and it has a bit of swelling as I really pay attention to let it get back to the 90% mark.

The dizziness when driving for awhile is on and off on how bad it gets. But , we live with it and cut the driving about checking out the countryside to what ever the problem allows and smile.

Surprise visit from an old friend's Son and he wanting to know if I could help him out on figuring out problems with my old friend's bikes.  Guess I'm gonna go check it out as I gave him my phone number to call me one afternoon. Be neat to roam though Doug's stuff again.

Rice crops are really starting to show their stuff as the flooding continues in the new fields. And more to the east is the new sugarcane plants looking good.  Was told the soy beans start happening at the end of this month. So we'll see.

So, that's a caught up till this morning. to the next.

07 May 2020

Wife says, ” Come look at the Air Conditioner , it don’t see right ” I go, fan not turning. Check breakers to no avail. Hmmmmmmm say to her, ” Bad Fan motor , I’ll call Donnie.
Call Donnie and talk to his lovely wife and we catch up on things as both are great friends.
Set up went down:  But, had two choices. One very easy > sleep in the sewing room with it's ac, queen bed, bathroom. Or Put together this little air conditioner Bren bought many years ago so we could run it off a generator if necessary but never got to be necessary. Well, decided to get it out of the box it's been sitting in for about 16 or so years and see what happens. Installed in the bedroom window and working great to keep that little 11 X 13 foot room cool.  ;-)
LOL and a fan from the shop in my room till bed time.
;-)

Today: Donnie and crew show up to check out fan and rest of unit. Getting strange readings on the volt meter. Shut off all breakers, Still happening. Cut off the main and really start having problems with noise coming from breaker when attempting to activate others. Hmmmmmmmm.

Donnie and crew get new motor installed and can’t test due to breaker problem. Donnie gets ahold of Entergy and after about 6 attempts finally get a person instead of Auto Answer. Should be here in an hour or so.

Then Donnie and crew leave, Call Crochet Electrical and get them on the way for the breaker. The crew show and I show them the happenings, Off they go to see if can find a matching breaker.
Entergy guy gets here and show him the problem of why needing the meter disconnected. Done deal, Say call about 30 mins before needed so then can get here faster. ;-) Off he goes.

1 PM and in a bit Crochet Electrical get back and make sure breaker will work, Yes, Start changing it out and everything frozen big time. But team work gets it done.
I get on the phone back to Entergy and after 3 people was told to get an inspection permit. Call Fire Dept Inspect gal, Get instruction on what was needed so off to the FD and get a permit for 50 bucks and call the City’s Inspector for inspection on breaker. About 1.5 hrs and he gets here and I show him what’s happening. No problem, A red sticker saying approved inspection and he calls Entergy to let them know all is good.
5PM Entergy comes and says I need to shut off all breakers, Hmmmmmm All breakrs in the box below the meter. He shows me NO, the original house wiring went from the meter straight to a breaker box in the bed room and I had forgot about that. Done deal and meter installed and Entergy gone.
Start turning things on one by one. AC finally does it’s delay time and come on and gunning fine fine .
Chill time.
After an hour, wife says it’s cold in the bed room. LOL. So turn up the thermostat. She wanted to make sure it was okay . Done deal. LOL Now, for the bills to coming in from out exciting and costly day.
Just very happy it was not near a weekend and I knew people in the trades. And learned to go around Entergy if possible to save lots of time and a little money.
