Month of April Happenings

 Guess grass cutting would be the main thing that started happening this month. My yard = weed eating. trimming with the walk behind mower and finishing with the riding mower. 

In Dee's yard it's only the riding mower that gets loaded into the trailer for the trip to and from Dee's home about 1/2 a mile away. 

Month of March 2025 gone

 Wow! This month flew by. 

March 1st

Parade Day

Did have the Canon G16 working today., A bit of a slow camera as found out. 1st time using it for fast multiple shots. But took a total of 258 pictures, kept and processed 120.

March 2

In the Shop the new batch of grape wine bubbling like crazy > YES!

In the Garage < all good

March 5

The intersection where 26 passes the Frontage roads totally redone,. Really lets you see coming traffic way better. Love it.

March 6

Hi Thursday at 12:30A! A look outside while coffee heating and very few stars visable though the light cloud cover. 48F reads the temperture gauge. Wine bubbling away in the shop.

Gonna be interesting to see how this new prep start of it comes out. Mix all up electric blade in about 2.5 gallons of water then strained to just mainly liquid before adding sugar and finally yeast with enhancer.

1st thing usually in the early morning , if used the Traverse the day before, is go to the garage and get the bugs off that white front. LOL . Like keeping it clean.

And of course check my wine production.

March 9

Playing with the Canon SX50 camera this morning. Need to start using it more even if a bit larger than the G16s.

Love roaming down the back streets in Jennings and things you find. Course a camera right on the side of me. LOve the painting on this place. 1st time seeing it and had to go around the block to get the picture.

A great ride about this afternoon with Da Bride but kinda wore on her on the lenght of the trip without stopping cept when we got back to Jennings and stop to get gas.

But had not been on these roads n awhile and wanted to see if any changes n the last years.

March 18

Did watch the people blacktopping the streets here in north town on Church St in action. A few pictures I took. Looking good! Next probably is 12 th street that borders our home at the corner of Church and 12th.

And did take the winter siding off the house as I'm pretty sure the harsh days of winter are over with pretty much.

Bought this place in 1969. Lots of changes for sure.

March 20

Wow!!!!!!!!! HELLO STORM! Tis a mean one for sure. Oh well , so much for cutting grass this morning. Looks like gonna be a chilled out morning. Heard the airport clocked winds up to 92 mph. Wow!

March 26

Today was grass maintenance day! Weed eating, ( changing the string also ) walk behind lawn mower to outline and small spaces and the riding mower for the rest.

Back yard , just a past with the riding mower.

Then cleaned both and put away.

Forgot where this painting was when seeing it on one of our afternoon ride abouts. Lots of work here.

March 27

Grass cutting time for the last two days. Then an hour cleaning the lawnmower. Then the driveway. ;-) 

March 29

The day my mom told me I was born. ;-) And made it to 82 yrs old. Wow! Never thought I would make it this far!!!!!!!

A bit of a ride about with da bride this afternoon after the heavy rains quit. But still light rains on our afternoon ride about covering 102 to 395 to Ronoake and service road to 382 and south to 380 to Lake Arthur and the LA Bar for a wine and rapping w ith great friends.

Then, of co urse da gal says Bubba's Chozen Frozens so away we went for a wine and conversations. Love it.

Home in the chill mode for sure.

March 31

And yesterday was a good ride about watching fields of rice come alive. 

That's it for this month for sure. 

20 Feb Brrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hi you cold Thursday morning at 02:00! And the 20th day of Feb. Wow on 30° on my thermometer under the carport. A quick trip into the sewing room to see how the heater is working. And check water drip in bathroom sink. And in the house > kitchen and bathroom drips. 

So says the weather it's gonna get ever colder today. So, nothing planned outside for sure. Ha ha ha. 

Let go back to the 16th day of Feb and see what was happening. 

So good of a time with the ride about at noon with Da Bride and Da Dee. Roamed about the countryside enjoying the back roads then home for sleep time.

Had a great meal at Green's Cafe before the run. Always great food by great people working there. Love that place much!

A nap then me and Brenda off to Loggerheads Bar . A wine and talking to the fine ladies working there. Love them all for sure.

Then , Home and chill mode.

You Tube and stuff like Joe Banamassa and Beth Hart. Love them.

Gotta love those morning pictures from the window in my 73° room vs outside where it's 37°. LOL On the 17th of Feb.

This pops up on my screen and I had to stare at it for quite awhile. 1974 was the year. Tysen Chesley and me on my '74 Harley Superglide, Last Harley I ever own. The 5 th one.

Hard to believe this was over 50 years ago.

A little ride about with da bride this afternoon. No stops as dental tomorrow. LOL!

Did a couple good pics of the future Tiger Mart in Lake Arthur when coming back to Jennings. Then just a good highway shot.

19 Feb

Well Hello Wednesday and the 19th day of Febuary already YES. So glad to be able to open my eyes, get on my feet, go to the kitchen window and see you. But you making my thermometer under the carport read 42° is like

Oh well , tis what it tis. Do have a Dental cleaning and exam at 08:30 today.

Did run the lawnmowers yesterday about noonish. Just a few spots in the front and side and about the shop and garage needed cutting. LOL The back yard can wait for warmer weather. ha ha ha ha

Oh well! So much for Dential this morning with the nose bleed. We reset for June. YES!

Lindsie Lacombe was the worker at the LA Bar on my stop there. Gotta be one of my favorite gals to talk to for sure. Next was to Bubba's Chozen Frozens for more wine and a visit with a great friend. And my wine back in stock. YES!

Shop to see the wine progress. Bubble sets at about 5 secs on the blackberry and 8 secs on the grape. All good.

Into the garage and Hi Traverse. Hmmmmm let's get the bugs off the front and the windshield cleaned while here. Love the exersize also.

 

 

Now, in my room. Loving the look and usefulness of the little table I got out of the trash and redid in the last few days. It has a new home , my room.

Plans for this fine rainy day is in the Winds for sure.

Wishing all Great Winds this fine day to be alive again.

Next for me. Exercise routines.

13th

Well, did added chemicals to halt the yeast in the blackberry wine. Tested at 11% ABV and pasted the wife's taste test. Tis for her mostly so she has final word on when I go to the next step.

So go to work yeast killers.

To the heater to warm da hands up. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Dat's it for getting cold today, I do hope. LOL

So coffee heating an a check on the wine.

Blackberry is at a standstill so may as well put it in bottles. Done deal! 1 2-Liter , 5 1.5 liter and about 1/2 of a liter bottle. Da Lady of the house has lots of wine now.

 Hello Saturday. Wonder what your winds going to bring my way today.

Great yesterday afternoon for sure. Cut my yard and Dee's yard. Then off to Lake Arthur and the LA Bar to meet with old friends that get together on Friday afternoons. So fun talking about the past

A couple wines and a journey to Jennings and Bubba's Chozen Frozens or Bubbas Booze & Cues, how ever U want to call it.

Fun talking with the ladies Keeley Shaye Linscombe and Chelsy Benoit her helper and a coustomer there., So love that place.

Home, banana supper. LOL. Fixing to be another wine and You Tube.

Wuz HELLO world at 12:10 this morning. Wow! 79F in my room this morning.

Old coffee warming, New coffee being made.

A trip outside and overcast but moon showing though the cloud cover. Hi Moon.

Into the shop to check on wine production. Decided to run gravity check as both bubbling at about a set every 3 seconds.

Blackberry checked out at 5.5% ABV and Grape at 6%. So be a few days yet to get to the 10 to 12% I like it at.

Coffee, my room, me computer and hello world,

And hmmmmm Sunday so if all stays the same > Greens for noon meal and a ride about with Da Wife and Dee.

Now, let us see if the winds agree.

Oh and started painting the little table I picked up in the trash a few days ago. One more light sanding and some spray paint should do it.

So onwards with this day.

Blackberry vines took a hit with the snow and freeze but coming back.

Wonder it the little Kumquat tree gonna survive. Looking bad from the snow and freeze.

The little side table I got out of the trash after clean up and repaint. Ready for my room. ;-)

 

And a farmer poluting the air. From yesterday afternoon returning to Jenning on U S 90.

So Let's see what this days Winds will bring out way.
