When you're up at 3 am and decide to get in the truck and get out to find a place to look at the sky without light pollution is a challenge when you have not been hunting places like this in years. WOW! All the light poles up even in the country. Oh well, makes it easier for thieves to see what they might want to steal.
But, that aside did end up between Hathaway and Elton on 395 and a dark enough place to see the milky way barely showing across the sky.
So did take a couple pictures to study methods and camera settings for the future outings.
Next thing was dropping my Suzy bike at a corner due to losing footing. Couple guys stopped and help me pick it up. Got it home before the knee started getting to bad so gonna have to deal with that for a few days.
Saw I had lost my phone so in the Car and go hunt but no phone. Get home and one of the guys that helped me had lost his phone as he had put it on top of his van. Well, when he went back for it he found mine in the grass but his, not so lucky as someone ran over it. So, he'll call me again this afternoon so we and meet and I'll get my phone back. Lucky me.
So, did get the yard mowed but left knee is not liking me none at present. Might have to get my can out. ;-)

Wow! Great walk at the graveyard this morn that really woke up my calves and sweat glands. But got about a good 1.5 miles in.
Then FD for C&C, Then the Fig Tree to knock off all the bad figs from the last days and about 1/3 gallon good figs. Do think my tree is going on the decline finally. Have a few to deliver this week and did see the wife gave away 4 bags yesterday while I was out and about. Oh Well.
Now in the chill mode while drying off before putting a fresh t shirt on. 2nd of the day.
4.4 inches of rain in the rain gauge from yesterday's storms. Wow!
Now, let us see where the winds of fate are gonna blow us the rest of the day besides a trip to Moss Buff.

Well, did think I had come down with a bladder infection but turned out to be something with the prostate gland back there misbehaving. A weeks worth of anti-bodies and putting up with the pains and functions of it and finally better on the last few days.
Also making it a concentrated efforts to limit alcohol intake when out and about. So, we'll see where that goes.
Have not been on Suzy for awhile due to the problem. Still want to get that ometer over the 100K mark with about 5 k miles to go. Maybe today a short ride. And, the KLR , much longer. Should sell it but hate to. Not a bike many people like as to their life style.
Car doing just fine and crossed the 139K mark on it. Still my most used ride.
Did finally change to plugs and wires on the truck and have the marks on the arms to show for it still. Hell to get old and the body showing it don't like rough treatment.
Wife is babysitting Daughter's dog for this weekend as they have a gathering at Toledo Bend. Need to enjoy it as School starts soon and Daughter is a teacher and GSon starting at McNeese. But, not going to be involved due to all the blame placed on me last time when it got away and run. Totally the wife's concern from now on out.
Did go through the buckets under the work bench in the shop and threw away a lot of stuff I'll never use.
Then got started yesterday on putting up a roof extension over the side door to the garage so, hopefully, the water coming off the roof will not splash back over the door seal and making small rivers of water in the garage. Was very hot and sweaty job as per measuring, cutting, getting the screws out and the pieces of metal in place. Making the holes with a punch and happen and getting the screws started. Will finish that project this morning before the temperature gets very high.
Really nothing exciting the last few weeks since my last entry. So, to the next!

Well, most of Barry they storm has come and gone. But, a lingering feeder stream has attached it'self to us at present. So, we just gonna stay put till that leaves us.
Sis in Law left back for home near Grangerland , Tx yesterday morning after we checked radar in her path. She called when getting home and said all was pretty good as per rain and traffic. Sure enjoy her visits and showing her positive attention that is very lacking in her blood sucking sons.
Even made her a couple CD's of '50's music hits to keep her company on the way home. ;-)
Not a lot happening the last few days. Put both bikes on Batter Tenders. Cleaned the markings where I seem to have hits a crane or other large bird on my freshly painted nose. Got it off with lots of elbow grease.
Did transfer dew berry wine to 10 of the .750 liter bottles a couple days ago and still have 2 of the 1.5 liter bottles full.
Did finally get rid of some figs a few days ago. 2 frozen gallons and 1 refridge gallon.
If this rain goes away, will disperse of 3 more frozen gallons tomorrow near Moss Bluff to a cuz.
Have not picked except to eat a few off the tree for the last several days so many over ripe ones hanging. Hopefully this hard rain will separate them to the ground. Then the flies will have fun.
So, that about is a wrap for the last few days and staying under shelter from the storms at present. ;-)

Hello Wednesday Morn! 2019/07/10th day.
Clothes washed and on the line.
With possible trashy weather in the near future, I figured I needed to quit delaying getting the carb swapped and have a running generator. Mission accomplished!
FD for C & C.
Rinse and wipe down Da Truck.
And, last but not least. Finish watching the Documentary on Black Holes on Netflix. Amazing the information being gathered in the Cosmos. Distances and Time involved way beyond imagination.

whew! don't take long to work up a good sweat behind a lawnmower in the back yard areas. Next, after a break and cool off > Fig pickin'
And the disturbance in the gulf just south of new orleans has the attention of all. We'll just have to wait and see what It wants to do. ;-)

The Dew Berry season is over for sure but did get about 10 gallons picked this year. And, have a batch of Dew Berry wine sitting in a carboy at present.
And here comes fig season with a very loaded tree. Two gallons already in the freezer. And see I'm gonna have to do some major trimming again this year.
And the Grapefruit tree is loaded. But that won't happen till late Nov or Dec. But have counted over 60 on it so far.
And we don't wanna talk about Kumquats. Gonna be very very many of them again this year.
Still getting miles on Suzy the Bandit in the quest to 100,000 miles showing on the ometer. About 5800 miles left to get there. Do remember when I was traveling about the country that would of been one good trip or two short ones and done in a month or two at the most. Still getting local miles on it but the desire to be in air conditioning and out of rain storms is causing the Vette to get more of the roaming duties about the home front.
Got to get my head into finishing the carb project on my old standby generator before it's needed again. LOL!
Looking like the cucumber plants are finished and need to be pulled, the plot redone , and more seeds planted. Been having this big cucumber in the refrig since last year for seeds so gonna see if we can make that happen. Still many small tomatoes on the vines so we good there.
As for the watermelon vine, many flowers but on little melons yet. And the half barrels of stuff I planed in that sawdust looking top soil are all no go. Undetermined on what's gonna happen there yet.
Kenny Clark and I did get a monthly get together of Class of 61 at Mike's Seafood on the 4th Friday of the month for those wanting to go. 1st time it was 3 of us and this last time it was 3 of us. But two different from last time. So, we'll just keep it going.
And lost another old friend though I have not seen him or his wife in many years face to face. RIP Micheal Gary.
That about takes care of all happening since the last write up.

And into July already!
Bike stuff is more miles getting done on the Suzuki in it's march to 100K miles on the ometer.
But the ride East to New Iberia last week was ruff on the old injuries to the lower right side of the back area. It just don't like the pounding of the bumps that the suspension of this bike gives. Plus, no pain killers before the ride.
Car stuff is it's still just so much a joy to drive. So, it still retains it's title as most used vehicle in my garage. Did order a lighter colored dash cover for it to see if we can reduce the heat from the black one there at present.
Did have a couple of times TPM gave a signal of not receiving a signal or something from the left front tire for one of them and didn't check the last one before it cleared.
Did jack it up and spray the oil pan with gas to cut the oil and stuff. Then soap and water then rinsed with water. Also soap and water to the radiator area and engine top. All is good at present. And 138 plus thousand miles on it.
Truck stuff. Changed out the steering wheel to a leather covered one I found on Ebay. The main work was building a puller set up as Auto Zone didn't have anything that would work. So built one out of some 5/16 bolts and a piece of 3/8" flat bar that got it off.
Did have to cut and use butt connectors on the air bags 4 wires and all cleared on the dash when firing up after the conversion.
This wheel is just a touch small so still a different feeling with size and the leather fee. Truck now at over 99K miles.
KLR , a few about the town rides about all that's happened there. Still runs very well.
Generator, did get another carb in for it and need to get it set up with the shut off and installed but other things going on in the morning and just not feeling like working on it when the garage gets to over 100F temps in the mid day.
My body doing well with some days the little aches and stuff better than others depending on what I do.
Took Dee ( sis-in-law ) and Brenda to the Lebleu graveyard off LA 397 yesterday to hunt from some Reeves grave sites. Which we found. They were the relates of Dee's late husband.
Batch of Dew Berry wine ready to bottle so gonna get that done this week and start something else.
So that it till the next.
