One Dr Visit a done deal! All good but wants me back on cholesterol meds. Okay Doc > You got it.

😉 See him and nurses again in 6 months I hope. 😉 LOL He said " How old you are now Chesley? about 65? " Aw Doc Wilder, how about 58 years old " Ha ha ha He looked at my chart and him and the nurse laughed. " Uh , a month and a bit from 80 yr old dude. " ha ha ha . Had to laugh at that one. Next they gave me a shot. LOL!

Morning routine of removing bugs off the Wagon. ;-0

11th day of February. and your 45F self. Let's hope the rains are over with as parade time in Lake Arthur at 2:30PM. And I want to be there with camera in hand. Always a fun time over there.
Bugs already removed from the Wagon's nose this early morning and it's smiling and ready for today's adventures. Even a full tank of gas. YES!
Da Brenda says feeling pretty good this morn but knows the shoulder is still there. LOL told her you got a ways to go yet gal. Just maybe in a couple more months it's gonna pretty much be gone, but it was 6 months for me to feel hardly any pain when using my damaged shoulder which was no near as damaged as her's was and still, 11 years later still not the same in strength or overall feeling of my right shoulder.
So, let's chill and hope the Weather Gods are nice to LA this afternoon.
A few from LA Parade last year!

For sure so ready for Spring and get back into gardening. 😉
Have 2 enclosures ready to dirt and plants

My kumquat tree before the freeze

And a week or so After the freeze

a picture of my 3 gals. Wife , Ella and Dee. Ella had hip replacement about 2 weeks before the wife had shoulder replacement.

And decided to black out the gold chevy sign on the front to black.

This day was a very foggy walk in the graveyard. But all the ghosts stayed in the ground LOL .

And the bride exercising that new shoulder joint. Think I'm gonna plant sunflowers there this year.

And my gal decided to get a new couch

Really beginning to wonder about my satsuma tree that did make 20 of them last year. If it starts showing life next month, in the ground it goes.

And after the pruning of the kumquat tree.

Gonna be a new begging for it after the freeze.

And a picture of both garden plots for this year. Have about 7 squash plants coming up in the near one and a couple cucumber plants in the far one. This last cold spell hurt them so we'll see and replant if need be.

And that about catches up today. Besides the wife getting fitted for new glasses then wanting to to Loggerheads for a glass of wine which was FINE with ME.

16 January 2023

1st half of Jan 23

As life rolls on with the recovery road for Brenda.  Paying her back for all the times I was injured plus the heart operation was fun for the most part. Even , at times with the sadness of her growing forgetfulness and lack of confidence , I do enjoy being there for her.

Therapy sessions 3 times a week for the last month has kept the arm and body active. I enjoy meeting the therapists also.

As per me in the last days, keeping the vehicle active and clean. Doing our afternoon rides when possible. Get's her out of the house and my fav country roads.

A pictures of my near daily routine of removing bugs I gathered the day before when going out of town.

Yes, Bayou Nez was getting up there in some of the rains this month.

The lights of Arthur Boulevard in Lake Arthur as I was leaving the LA Bar.

Just had to grab my M50 Canon for the rear view mirror shot of the setting sun.

And today, a visit with Dr Holland to find out the next chapter in her recovery process. Of course, I'll be with her to fill in the blanks of any questions he has.

So, Till the nextl.

26 December 2022

Yuk! A dreary overcast 68F overcast morning greeted me as I went outside to check my world about me. The sound of vehicles on Cutting and about the hood. The sound of a trash truck in the distance picking up trash containers. Hmmmmmm.

Back to my room while coffee finishes brewing. '

Thinking about what Winds will come my way this fine day to be alive again.

Did have a sink light problem this morn. But after getting the cover off and rotating the lights , all good.

Now we sitting in my room chillin'.

And for Brenda da Wife! After an afternoon of getting through admissions at the Crowley hospital, the day has come for her shoulder replacement. Needs to be at the hospital for 05:30 today, the 8th day of December.

1st time yesterday setting a clock in a long time to make sure up at 04:30. Normally up way before that but sometimes drift off back to sleep. ;=)

Thanks for all the well wishes

.Da bride doing well since this mornings surgery. Sladed to go home tomorrow.

Got to the hospital about 6am and up to the room. All lights off. But da Brenda wide awake.

Great doctor and staff visits. Great breakfast and got her in the chair.

All good.

Sucks when both our phones quit working. Brenda's was me hitting a wrong button as I don't know that phone at all. Mine was an on going problem with being able to do most anything but recieve or call out. Been having problems with that phone for over a year now. So 850 bucks later not worried about it now. Ha ha ha.

The new Galaxy 22 in the charge mode then I'll put the phone numbers I want back in it. LOL only about 20 numbers. Then the notes.

No big pain meds for Bren this weekend . Drug stores out of the one send a subscription to WallMart for the next few days. Hmmmmmm. Hope my old toothache meds give her a bit of relief.

So onwards with this day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And gonna put my weed eater to work for a bit.

Since getting home it’s been Therapy for Brenda 3 times weekly. Coming along fine and love the gals doing the work on getting her back in shape. Light exercises on the arm and more on the rest of the body.

Then the visit to Dr Hollands office 10 days after surgury and the patch off , Staples out. A light set of bandaids that should fall off in the next couple weeks.

Other than taking care of my gal though these days or recovery, doing more things around the home she can’t do for now. Plus what I normally do. ;-)

Great Xmas Day with the Sis in Law at her home. Daughter’s s family all there also. Gumbo and several other sides made the dinner great. Did wash dished for her for something to do while they were gossiping at the table. ;-)

Home, A ride about for Da Bride and that brings us to today.

11 December 2022

This gal has been my main concern for the last few months. Finally , the shoulder replacement a done deal with Dr Holland from Jennings.
We were not really happy with the doc from Lake Charles so wanted a 2nd opinion with a Dr I knew from past experience with my shoulder injury years ago.
He had x rays done and explained everything about the injury and the probably limits if no surgery. So done deal,  Lets have it done. 05:30 be at the hospital to get started. Operation was done in Crowley where we stayed for 2 days.  Love the staff taking care of her.
Home at about 2 PM Friday. A visit to the sisters and check on Ella whom had hip replacement done a week ago.  Hmmmmmm 2 sisters with major body reworkings in the last few weeks. Hmmmm.
Next for me was finding the dead mouse smelling up the garage.  Did find it stuck to a mouse pad  so in the trash and clean up the area.  Some of the food the wife had up in the garage had attracted them and they ate through some packs of spaghetti.  Oh well, live and learn.
Other than that, tending to the wife's flower beds as that out of her doing for a while yet.  Plus gives me something to do besides sit at this computer.
Then a phone problem yesterday morning when we needed to use them sent me to ATT to get them to straighten out her phone. And see what's wrong with my phone > Again .  That thing works when it wants to for phone calls but did text okay.
So $860.00 later I have a new phone that works. And after about 4 hours learning it and putting what phone numbers in it I need.  We good. Samsun S22 is the new phone, The S12 in the drawer if needed.

A meeting with Home Health yesterday afternoon set up future therapy sessions. Starting Monday at home. So we carry on from there.
And that catches us up for now.

02 December 2022

Wow is all I can say about the last month.

Ella at Dee's sink.  And the good news is she did get the hip replacement finally done last Wednesday in Lafayette. She did call me Thursday afternoon to let me know how things go. Already 3 therapies. And hopefully back to Dee's in a few days.

Then there's my wife, Brenda. And her injuries to shoulder and foot.

Still with the dizzy spells. The foot slowing getting better. The shoulder is the main problem. After 3 visits to the Doctor in Lake Charles, he's saying operation for shoulder replacement. So told him we'll give it another month.
So back to town and a discussion about a back up opinion with Dr Holland here in town.  1st appointment was cancelled due to him being stuck in surgery. So, a back up appointment set for the 6th > Tuesday. He's the doctor that got my shoulder back working but was not near as bad as Brenda's.  And if gonna have to be replaced, rather do it in Jennings.

Other than that for the last month, not a lot different going on in my life.
Did decide to go a different way on next years garden. Back to the ground for sure.
Did give all the drums and braces for them to my Niece near Welch

So this set up is gone for sure.
And 2 of these are what's happening for next spring. Which are 4 X 12 feet.  Still have to buy dirt for the other one.

Other than that, new tires installed on Brenda's Nissan Rouge and really changed the ride. Had the work done at Walmart here in town as the discount for a former worker covers the taxes. ;-)

And the last thing is a new computer for me , an HP from Best Buy in Lake Charles and we still learning on it. Pretty much have it going my way , or me, it's way at present. And way faster than the older Dell.

And Da Brenda a new laptop from Walmart here in town as my old laptop I use to use in my travels is about 15 years old and so very slow. So, been another learning experience getting that set up for her.  Now, is teaching her to use it.

And besides a couple batches of wine being made and bottled in the last month or so.  Rasin and Fig, not a lot going on.

So, till the next.

22 October 2022

And October going by pretty fast and sure has changed my normal activities of visiting friends here and there for a bit in the afternoons. Don't want to leave the wife along for very long as she still in trouble with shoulder and foot also.

The foot had been have a bruise in the arch and a little swelling but with all the other problems, put on the back burner. Finally address that this week and yes, more broken stuff. The middle bone near the center of the arch. So , got her a boot to wear bet she's not agreeing with it most times. Ditto with her sling. Oh well. We'll find out next Friday on the Doc visit in LD town if the should joint gonna have to be replaced.

Started the project to line the South side of the house with wind blockers also. Got the last 5 pieces of old metal roofing cut and ready for painting and drilling rod holes.

The sister in law > Ella <  will be having a hip replacement after a couple months of trying to avoid it which just made the joint worst and the pain terrible.

Did cut my grass last Tuesday for the heck of it. And Dee's yesterday mainly just to run the lawn mower.  Bought back the little unit I had gave her as it would not start. Took all the old gas out of it and put fresh gas and bingo , runs good. Then cleaned it as that had not been done since I gave it to her over a year ago.

Started using the wife's Nissan Rouge more so it just don't sit there not being used and go bad. LOL also giving my Traverse Wagon a break from everyday rolling some where's.

17 October 2022

Whew! Been a hell of a ride the last week for sure.  Sunday, while I was out on my morning walk, da Wife dizzed out and fell in the bathtub. Got home and found her in bed in pain. Bruises and separated shoulder was the outcome.

Put her in the hospital Monday afternoon after seeing her color the next day and blood pressure not coming up and stool way too dark. They went to work on the body rather than the shoulder. Daughter and I swapping out time with her at all times. Thier bed sucks. ha ha ha ha.

So, her location from Monday afternoon till Thursday morning.

Stomach ulcers, intestinal bleeding, very low BP.  88/40 was the last I had taken. Much meds, 2 units of blood, stomach scans and others also, color and BP back to normal. So, after 4 days, way better and appointment in Lake Charles Thursday morning for shoulder work.

Can't thank the staff at the Jennings Hospital enough for the care and attention and friendliness they showed us.

Picked up my Niece , Trisha Taylor Manual in Welch on the way to LC and was great cause she knew where we was headed precisely. Memorial Hospital.

Verdict was bad separation of the left shoulder joint. Showed us pictures and got a good sling to support it when on her feet. Keeping it on her keeping me busy. LOL!  Back to see them in two weeks to check on healing > OR < shoulder replacement.

Besides that, Determined that the horizonal raise garden was a bust this year.  Was told needed to build a cover to keep the sun heat under control.  Hmmmmm.  But, with the pain of weed eating every week around all that stuff. And the very low output from the plants that didn't live long.  I decided to go back to the ground next year next to North end of the shop and garage. So, project this winter is moving the soil, setting up the borders and getting rid of the split drums.

And the pressure washer is running right after adding Techron and lots of running. Teach me to let it set a long time without use. And I do run the generator once a month for 30 minutes to an hour to keep it  in shape. Four little gas engines to keep happy. Generator, Pressure washer and two Lawn mowers.
