Yes did put a new tire on Bandit.
Cleaned the rim seating surface really good with a wire brush on an electric drill as it was kinda trashy.
Went with a Michelin Road Pilot 2 as did with the front.
Balanced out pretty good.
Also change the disks in the rear capilar and lubed the pucks for it.
About 200 miles on it now and all is good.

Have over 3 gallons of dew berries picked so far and adding to it every morning.  Think re doing to set up to just include on small fence was a good move.

Was a WOW moment when looked at the Kumquat tree yesterday morning. Just did get most all the fruit off of it from last years harvest and BANG, Flowers all over it.

And with the Grapefruit tree in the front yard with about 60 little grapefruits on it, gonna be a productive season for it again. Was around 50 last year.

Plus with the two 4 X 8 foot garden plots in the back  yard with tomatoes and cucumbers. Then the 1/2 barrels and buckets with stuff planted gonna be interesting.  Also some watermelon plants near the fig tree.

Then , there's the Fig tree looking good also. Many little figs on it. Need to get pics of it today.

So, the quest is still on to get 100K miles before the end of the years on Suzy the Bandit.  And, about 6900 miles to go at present and 7 months left to get it done. May not make it due to not really wanting to ride when it's really hot out. And , running out of places to go locally that I have not been so many times before. Plus, the multi day trips are past history as is more than about 200 miles a day. So, we'll see how it goes.

KLR is doing fine and is at 51,200 or so miles so still use it locally and weekly.
Da truck had a lot of miles added to it on the Rogers , OK trip a few weeks back and that trip did it good.  Plus wash and waxed it a few days ago and it's happy.
Da Vette is Da Vette and still love getting out in it pret near daily.  But, it's sat the last couple days so time to roll it today.

Got tagged on a credit card fraud this weekend with some rental company charge 5 instances of 1 to 2 thousand dollars for rental on ????.  Called the back right away when getting the notice. They cancelled the card and investigating it.  Supposed to be getting a new card in a few days. And , see on their website that tis pending to be taken off my account so I can pay this months bill.

And the gathering at La Rumba  here in town with family and friends plus giving Ty his 50th birthday celebration early.

Even had my niece > Trisha Taylor Manual with us. Really neat.

And the picture at the right is Holly and Trish and Ty the birthday guy.

And we have Ty   Trish    Me.   Great times.

The other surprize of this post is yesterday when getting ready to roll Suzy Da Bandit out to go get an inspecting and flat rear tire. What!  Went ahead and re aired it and was looking for a nail.

Not so,  But did get it inspected and new rear tire ordered yesterday.

18 May 2019

Wow! May moving fast!
Last night was graduation from Hathaway High for my Nephew with him getting a McNeese scholarship. Yea Zack!  And seeing the rest of the family there including my New Orleans Son.
Wife went to the reception after but I snuck off to HOME and BED.

Did get the front tire changed out on Suzy the Bandit a bit back so that's good for awhile.  Also cleaned pistons and new disks for the front brakes.

Next , decided to tackle the nose redo on the Vette.  So some sanding and priming and sanding and painting and sanding/buffering/polishing and we're pretty much done there.

30 April 2019

As the last day of April, need to finish on the happenings so far this month.

Corvette > Changed oil and filter. Washed the underneath from the minor oil leaks. All been working good since the battery change out.  Still love cruising about in it with the cornering ability.
Was hoping to use it for a trip to Norman, Ok. the 2nd of May but with the impending weather of lots of rain, decided the truck was a better choice.

Truck > Being as it's going to be used as the Norman run vehicle did service work on it.  Oil and filter as it was getting time anyway.  Almost a year and 4200 miles on the oil. Tires look good and all else looking good.  So, it's ready to go.

Suzuki >  Front tire down to the wear marks so ordered another front for it due in Saturday while we're gone.  So will also do something with the front disks also while it's apart.  About 7700 miles left to get the ometer to 100K miles. Just need to average about 210 miles a week to get it done this year.
Did have some pretty good days last month on Suzy and even one over 200 miles. Impressed me that I was able to do that in one ride.

KLR >  Not a lot of use on it so far this year.  Just use it locally really. But running well.

Garden >  Most all seeds planted this month are showing.  Really need to start making signs to remember what's planted.  Cucumbers really starting to show.  Watermelons also.  Tomatoes a bit slow as is the cantaloupes .

Weed killer I've been spraying not doing that great a job. Probably gonna check out a set up I got on line with Vinegar, soap, salt and see how bad that stuff is. I know salt water does a job on about any plant so perhaps.

The Kumquat tree is near empty now after a picking spree.  One batch of wine being made with enough in the freezer for another later.  Still has green fruit on it.

The Grapefruit tree produced about 50 last year and looks like it's going to be the same this year. I've trimmed it down a bit but didn't hurt production it seems. Also the home of a mockingbird nest with little ones already out but not flying. Saw one on the ground yesterday and was going to pick it up but it run away pretty fast.  Now if I can keep the cats at bay with the bb gun. < which was brought into action yesterday twice.

The Fig tree was trimmed back pertty good last fall but in full attack mode with many little figs on it. Gonna be a good year.

The newly planted lemon tree looking good so far and had two little lemons on it when bought it but looks to be having some more developing. We'll see.

The Dewberry vine regulated to one section of fence has come back strong this year after taking last year off due to all being cut down and rearranged. Made may little bees happy with the flower output and now, many many green berries on it.

That about wraps it for the month so onwards to the next.

22 April 2019

Well, Easter out of the way. Pretty neat time with the daughter's family here for noon meal and some conversation.

Oil and filter changed on the car and think I put in about 1/2 quart too much. May just drain some out this morning as I want to get the front up and wash some of the oil off the bottom of the engine as the leaks are still there.
Also looking like the front tires are having a bit of more wear on the insides of the fronts so gonna call about an alinement today. Been near 2 years and new tires and shocks and wheel bearings since the last.

Let's see, oh yes,  still on the quest of getting to 100K miles on the Suzuki's ometer. Having to average 210 a week to get there by the end of this year.  And starting to see a new tire in the near future. Getting to the wear marks on the front. But with plus 11 K miles, tis good.

KLR is still the KLR, And do try to get some seat time on the old bike at least a few times a month. Keep thinking I want to sell it but then Why?  Not gonna get any good money for a 20 year old bike with 51K miles on it. But, do think I'll lower it again as the old legs don't like tip toes. ;-).

Finally getting to where I don't tear up thinking about Da Luce and our 10 yrs together. Still see her everywhere though in my thoughts.  But, age comes I think I tear up easier just watching programs on TV or computer.

Garden plants coming along slowly and want to get some more dirt for them and the yard. So will look more into that this week.

Not much else happening so till the next.

20 March 2019

Arriving at the 1st day of spring today so says the calendar  Yes!

Corvette doing just fine with the new battery. Just keep on adding miles to that puppy. Did pressure wash the engine a little a few weeks ago.

A few rides on Suzy da Bandit netted a few more hundred miles on the clock.

KLR,  a couple rides on it including yesterday's 35 mile round trip with about 20% gravel roads. Love keeping my skills up even at nearing the end of 75 yrs old and welcoming that I'm may make it to 76.

Did lose our furry little person.  Da Luce. She will always hold a place in my heart.
And I still tear up a bit even after 2.5 weeks.

A lemon tree graces the back yard now. Been wanting to plant one and hope it does as well at the kumquat and grape fruit and fig trees do.  The Dew Berries, we have to wait and see since I moved and trans planted the majority of them.

Also trimmed a lot off the other trees. Just getting too big and spread out.

A day of jury duty in which I was released at the last name called on the 2nd go round.  Did have to call back the next day after 5P to make sure I was not recalled. Got a not needed, released from Jury Duty. Oh Well!

Went to cut grass with the Dixon yesterday and dead battery. Tried to charge it and no go. Jumped it with the truck and got it started,  cut yard, get back to the garage, shut it down, attempt restart.  NADA.  So, pull the battery and went to Auto Zone and got a new one. Near 50 bucks cost.
Took it back home and put it on a Batter Tender to bring it up to full power before installing it later today.
But, it's right at 10 yrs old and pretty sure it's the original battery.

Wine time >   Did bottle the Grapefruit wine which came out at 18.4 ABV
Did bottle the Satsuma/orange wine which came out a 16.6 ABV
And the Muscadine wine is still in the bubbler winding down it's active yeast life.

That about gets us up to date on activities.

22 February 2019

Biggest item of the past week or so is related to the Corvette.
While cruising about the ABS/TCS lights come on across my dash and DIC screen.  Hmmmmmm. It would not reset off the dash and kept reappearing on the DIC screen. Headed for a gravel road as pert near impossible for me to lock up the tires on pavement in that car. But, finding a gravel road and check to see if the ABS system was working or not.  No, all tires slid to a stop. Oh well!

Getting home decided to wait till morning to get codes about the system failure. So, next morning , out to garage and car to get codes. What, showed one code on the ABS system but no number of the kind of code. Oh well, cleared that code, plus one other on an outside rearview mirror that was in history from disturbing it while cleaning.

Then, gonna start the car to see if code popped up again. What, does not turn engine over fast enough to start. Hmmmmmmm.  Set up large charger and charge battery on high for about 15 mins and attempt to start again. Success this time. So, Volt meter in the car showing 14 V charging. Get my VOM meter out and check at the battery and ditto, 14 V there so know the charging system is working. Battery time!

Autozone to the rescue with a new battery for the car. The young lady tested the old battery and it was  bad so got my new 175.11 buck and cents battery and home and put it in the Vette and hooked up a Battery tender to bring it to full charge.
Next morning it's green light on the Battery Tender so when afternoon rolls around time to test and see if all is good with the Vette. 97 miles later, roaming about the roads, no codes or warning so the Vette is back to normal.

Weather is very not nice with one day 70F and the Next at the mid 40's and windy. And both wet days. And with a 50% chance of rain this afternoon, we'll see where the radar has the rains before we cast ourselves to the Winds of Fate. ;-)
